Brief introduction of Jingdezhen temple
1In April, 949, the China People's Liberation Army broke through the south of the Yangtze River, and the southern Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee made a military plan to liberate Wenzhou City first and then the whole territory of southern Zhejiang. According to the known situation, it was decided to strive for Ye Fang, the regional commissioner and security commander of the Kuomintang, to lead the uprising.
After secret contact, on the evening of May 1, guerrilla representatives from southern Zhejiang and Ye Fang held talks at Jingde Temple in Guoxi. After a night of discussion, they reached an agreement and Ye Fang led the uprising. On May 4, the meeting was held again, and finally an agreement was reached: he was appointed as the deputy commander of the guerrilla column in southern Zhejiang, and the two regiments were reorganized into the seventh and eighth detachments of the guerrilla column in southern Zhejiang. The determination of military tasks, the division of defense lines, the methods of handover and defense, the way and time of entering the city, the contact signals, and the reception and management methods of both parties to the agreement are all stipulated in detail.
On the evening of May 6, the guerrilla column in southern Zhejiang received the commanding heights of Lotus Heart, Cuiwei Mountain and Songtai Mountain outside Wenzhou. At midnight, the troops set out from Taipingling and entered the city in three ways. The guerrillas in southern Zhejiang and Ye Fang troops carried out their respective tasks according to the agreed division of labor, and they made smooth progress. In the early morning of the 7th, the guerrillas in southern Zhejiang fired three flares, announcing the liberation of Wenzhou.
Since then, Wenzhou has ended the reactionary rule of the Kuomintang for 22 years and returned to the people's hands, becoming the only central city in southern China that was peacefully liberated by local guerrillas through negotiations.
Jingde Temple, founded in Song Dynasty, is located in a ravine under Zhongtongling Peak, surrounded by lush bamboo and wood, with a quiet environment. 1927, a generation of eminent monk Master Hongyi once lived here for about a year. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), the government has repaired this temple many times. Now five halls, five wings, are arranged as showrooms, displaying many precious historical pictures. The original negotiation site was transformed into an antique tile house with a conference table inside to simulate the scene of peace talks at that time.
Jingdezhen Temple was opened to the public from 1999. As one of the memorial halls for the history of revolutionary struggle in southern Zhejiang, it has become an important place for young people to learn revolutionary traditions and for party member cadres to understand the history of the Party.
