Can Chinese rose seedlings be pruned in spring?
The seedlings of Chinese rose should be pruned moderately, with the purpose of promoting growth and health, laying a good foundation for future growth and development, and rapidly developing into a plump tree.

After the seedlings are transplanted to the upper pot, they will generally send out 1 ~ 2 new shoots from the top. Some branches are not long, that is, they begin to sprout, but the flowers are small and shapeless, which will consume nutrients. When the shoots grow to the size of beans, they should be cut off together with 1 ~ 2 leaves under the shoots. When the new branches without pregnant buds grow 7-8 leaves, the heart can be removed to promote the growth and enrichment of the new branches, and the new branches will gradually sprout strong basal buds from the base of seedlings or pot soil and quickly develop into branches (commonly known as primary branches and stubborn strips). The primary branch grows vigorously and will become the main branch in the coming year, which not only has strong branches and rich flowers, but also fully displays the characteristics of varieties.
