Can the newly bought rose stems be grafted?
It is best to graft tree roses after cutting off the rose stems. Of course, rootless grafting is no problem. Relatively speaking, the thinner and greener the rose stem, the better its activity and the faster its rooting speed, but the rootless grafting of tree-shaped roses is mainly carried out in autumn and winter, generally not in the growth period.

The reason why lollipop roses can be rootless grafted in autumn and winter is because nutrients are stored in the branches of roses after dormancy. At this time, the nutrient accumulation of the rose stem itself is sufficient. After the whole rose column germinates, two rose bud points are symmetrically grafted on the top, and then cutting is carried out. In this way, some nutrients accumulated in the rose stem itself will promote the healing and budding of the grafting interface, while others will form callus at the bottom of the stem and then take root. This can be said to be the rootless grafting of roses.

In the afternoon, I grafted the tree-shaped roses first, and then cut them. The bud has germinated and obvious callus can be seen at the junction.

If the rose has sprouted or the rose is in the growing period, the nutrient accumulation of the stem itself is insufficient. At this time, if rootless grafting is carried out in winter, it will easily lead to bud blackening, so grafting is generally not carried out in the growing season. Generally, I cut rose stems in summer by light fog. The details are as follows: There are some leaves at the top of the rose stem, except for 2-3 rose buds at the top, all the other rose buds are dug out, and then the rose stem is cut. The cutting substrate is fine coconut bran, and the cutting container is a citrus seedling bag. Before inserting the pole, soak the bottom of the pole with rooting agent and hymexazol (especially important in high temperature in summer), and water the cut coconut bran with hymexazol once. After cutting, the top will be automatically sprayed with a nozzle. Generally, in summer, I set it to spray fog once every 5- 10 minutes, and it takes 30 seconds to reach 65438 once.

Of course, the roots of cut rose stems are often weak, and they can also be planted directly for one or two years. After it grows vigorously, it is also good to dig it out in autumn and winter and put it in the greenhouse for tree-like rose grafting. If you want to graft the cut roses, you can graft the rose buds on the pole first, and don't remove the rootstock leaves at this time, the grafting interface has healed. At this time, the growth of rootstock branches is gradually controlled, and buds are forced to germinate by methods such as folding branches, and photosynthesis will gradually take place after the buds germinate.
