One ear often itches, especially at night. What happened?
There are many reasons for ear itching, such as skin eczema, fungal infection, irritation or swelling of the ear canal when the water is not dry. These diseases and symptoms can cause itchy ears. Earwax, commonly known as earwax, is a waxy substance secreted by sebaceous glands in the external auditory canal. It is yellow and has the functions of moistening fine hairs in the ear and preventing foreign bodies such as insects from entering the ear. The sanded external auditory canal is close to the mandibular joint. When eating, chewing or opening your mouth to talk, the flaky earwax in the ear canal will slowly loosen and be discharged unconsciously. Therefore, although earwax is constantly secreted, it will not accumulate. Keeping a small amount of earwax often can protect your ears.

Earwax in the ear canal of a few people is abnormal. It's a brown lump tightly stuck in the ear canal, which hurts when touched and interferes with hearing. It is called cerumen embolism. Due to excessive secretion of cerumen gland or narrow external auditory canal, cerumen is not easy to be discharged and gradually accumulates on weekdays. People with cerumen embolism will gather more and more, and the longer it takes, the harder it will become, and sometimes the external auditory canal will be deformed. For example, if the ear wax plug compresses the eardrum, it will also cause earache, tinnitus and even dizziness. Once the water enters the ear, the hard cerumen will be swelled by the tide, which will stimulate the skin of the external auditory canal, easily causing otitis externa and unbearable pain. If your ears itch, you should go to the hospital to see a doctor.
