How to raise Xifu begonia?
Haitang Xifu is a small tree of Malus in Rosaceae, also known as Haihong, Malus amurensis, Malus microphylla and Malus bonus. It is a common cultivated fruit tree and ornamental tree. The trees stand upright and the flowers are dense. The fruit is sweet and sour, and the Xifu begonia stands tall among the begonia flowers, like a graceful girl. Flowers are red, leaves are green and fruits are beautiful. Whether it is planted alone, in rows or in clusters, it is extremely beautiful. Bright colors, generally cultivated in gardens for greening. Xifu begonia stands tall among begonia flowers, like a graceful girl. The flowers are red and pink, the leaves are green and lovely, and the fruits are delicious and attractive. Whether planted alone, in rows or in clusters, they are extremely beautiful. Xifu begonia can be planted in the courtyard, or it can be dwarfed as a bonsai for viewing flowers and fruits.

Begonia Xifu is native to the northern provinces of China, and enjoys sunshine, cold tolerance, waterlogging avoidance and drought tolerance. Flowering in April, flowering period 10 days or more. Roots sprout easily.

1. Propagation method of Begonia Xifu: Begonia is generally propagated by grafting or branching, or by sowing, layering and root cutting. Grafted seedlings can blossom ahead of time and maintain their original excellent characteristics.

1. Grafting propagation method: The seedlings that have been sown and propagated are used as rootstocks for branch grafting or bud grafting. Carry out branch grafting or bud grafting. Tree sap flows and germinates in spring for branch grafting, and can bud grafting in autumn (July-September). Branches can be cut and split. The scion is selected from the fully developed 1 year branches, and the middle section (with more than two complete buds) is taken. After grafting, cover the scion with fine soil and bud grafting with the word "T". It takes about 10 days after grafting. If the bud is fresh and the corner of the petiole falls off, it is proof of grafting, and it can be unbound in a few days. When the height of seedlings is 80 cm ~ 100 cm, backbone branches are formed, and then only dense branches, inward branches and overlapping branches are pruned to keep the crown round.

2. Propagation by ramets: Begonia xifu roots are easy to sprout, and the ramets are divided before sprouting in early spring or after defoliation in autumn and winter. The method of dividing plants is to dig out the tillers germinated in rhizosphere, cut them into several individual plants, or transplant 2-3 new buds with roots into a cluster. After planting, water it thoroughly in time, pay attention to moisturizing, shade it when necessary, and water it when it is dry.

3. Seeding and propagation method: Seeding mainly provides rootstocks for grafting, and seedlings grow slowly and are easy to mutate, so seedlings are generally not cultivated directly. Commonly used sowing methods are strip sowing, furrow sowing or box sowing. After sowing, it should be covered with seedless soil and covered with straw curtain or plastic film to keep the bed soil moist. The suitable temperature for seed germination is 18-24℃, and the seedlings can emerge after 15 days. After emergence, the plastic film should be removed in time, and at the same time, the seedlings should be thinned and the weak seedlings, clustered seedlings and miscellaneous seedlings should be pulled out. Maintain air circulation, sufficient sunshine, strengthen fertilizer and water management at seedling stage, and transplant in late autumn of that year. The seedlings will not bloom for 5-6 years.

Second, the garden planting and management

Begonia is generally planted underground, and the planting time is appropriate before germination in early spring or after defoliation in early winter. Keeping the root system intact when leaving the nursery is the key to survival. Generally, large seedlings should be brought with soil ropes, and small seedlings should be left in the soil according to the situation. After planting seedlings, we should strengthen tending management and keep them loose and fertile. Prune once after defoliation in early spring and before germination, cut off weak branches, pests and diseases, and keep the crown evacuated, ventilated and transparent. In order to promote the vigorous flowering of plants, long branches must be cut short to reduce the nutrient consumption of germination. Fruiting branches and rubbing branches do not need pruning. In the growing period, if the fruit core can be picked in time and the vegetative growth is restricted in the early stage, the effect will be more remarkable. After planting, keep the soil loose and fertile, prune it once in spring, cut off dead branches and weak branches, keep tree-like evacuation, keep ventilation and lighting, and pay attention to pest control.

Third, potted plants

Generally eaten before Qingming. First, put broken tiles on the bottom of the flowerpot, then put some basic fertilizers such as rotten cake fertilizer, broken bones, fish bones and chicken feathers, and then fill in the culture soil. When planting, the long lateral roots, injured roots and redundant fibrous roots of Begonia plants are cut off and slightly trimmed. Pay attention to the stretching of the root system when planting, fill the soil into half of the flowerpot, gently lift the plant and shake it, and compact the culture soil. When planting, it should not be too deep, and the rhizome and the mouth of the flowerpot should be kept level. Shallow affects the survival, deep affects the growth of begonia after transplanting, and water it once after planting.

After cultivation, it should be maintained in a cool environment for about a week, and then moved to the sunny place for maintenance after the root system is restored. At the beginning of planting, the roots should be covered with more soil, and then the roots should be gradually raised with boxing stones, which becomes a landscape of begonia piles in the wild mountains and forests. In order to make begonia blossom and bear fruit, water and fertilizer management should be strengthened. Topdressing 1-2 times of mixed phosphorus and nitrogen fertilizer before flowering, and then topdressing 1 double diluted phosphorus and potassium fertilizer every half month. In the dead of winter, the potted begonia can be moved to the sunny place in the warm room by heating to promote flowering, watered and applied with liquid fertilizer, and then sprayed with water on the branches of the plants every day, keeping the room temperature at 20-25℃, and the flowers can bloom after 30-40 days for decoration and appreciation on New Year's Day or Spring Festival. After planting, the long branches should be cut short and topped to keep the soil loose and fertile, and the accumulated water in the basin should be dumped in time after the rain. Pruning once in spring, cutting off dead branches and weak branches, keeping tree-like evacuation, can make begonia branches bend and shape, or make them round and spherical. Keep ventilation and light, and pay attention to pest control.
