What is a navel?
Mammals are divided into three categories: placental, haploid and marsupial. Placental mammals are the largest and most diverse of the three animals. They carry this name because they nourish their offspring through the placenta (this name is a bit inappropriate because of marsupials and placentas)
Placenta is basically an organ that connects the developing fetus with the uterus. Because the fetus develops to a relatively late stage in the mother's uterus, all the necessary nutrients are obtained through the placenta. Placenta also provides oxygen and removes waste from fetal blood.
Placenta is attached to the uterine wall, and fetal umbilical cord develops from placenta. After birth, when the placenta is separated from the baby, the scar tissue (concave or sometimes convex area) is clinically called umbilical cord. In layman's terms, it is called navel or navel.
So you have-your navel may be your first scar.
Umbilical hernia (when the baby's abdominal wall layer is not completely connected) may cause the navel to push out, even though they are usually painless and will not cause any discomfort.
Sometimes, the inner pressure will make the navel of pregnant women change from concave to convex. Extreme weight gain can also cause the same result.
Does navel work?
The navel has no biological use, although it is used in some medical procedures. For example, if a newborn needs blood transfusion, the umbilical cord stump is preferred.
Visually, the navel is used to divide the abdominal vision into quadrants, which is usually considered as the balance center of the body and an important anatomical symbol. It is also used to introduce laparoscopic foramen in laparoscopic surgery and can be a sign of intra-abdominal lesions.
Abnormal navel shape may also be an indicator of pregnancy problems.
Finally, it can also play an aesthetic role-although many people think that the navel is beautiful, some people have pierced tattoos on it, and even the navel nerve.
You never knew you wanted to know about the navel, did you? Then, at 20 12, a biological study found that the "fauna" in your navel is very similar to the tropical forest-that is, the bacterial fauna, that's all. According to researchers, thousands of bacterial types can be found in your navel (some novice scientists), but there is no reason to worry: they are harmless.
If you think this is disturbing, wait until you say that you can make cheese with bacteria in your navel. As part of a cooperative project called "Homemade", biologist Christina Agapa Keith and odor artist Cisel Trust made 1 1 new cheese from bacteria in armpits, mouth, toes and navel.
In an article published in the journal Plastic and Plastic Surgery in 2000, scientists tried to discuss what the perfect navel looks like. This article, entitled "Looking for the ideal female navel", asked participants to evaluate different types of navel. They found that the excellent T-shaped or vertical umbilical piece of the ventilation hood has always been the highest in aesthetic appeal, while "Eurorail" is almost universally unpleasant. Considering that thousands of people have navel plastic surgery every year (and the trend is increasing), it may be quite useful to know this. Interestingly, breast augmentation can also be done through the navel to avoid scars; It is called transumbilical augmentation mammoplasty.
