Should I trim the branches and leaves when growing tomatoes?
Leaves and branches need pruning.

In the whole growth process of tomato, only the main stem is left, and other lateral branches are removed one by one. Pruning side branches to remove old leaves plays an important role in reducing plant nutrient consumption, promoting fruit bearing and improving quality.

When fruit is colored, cutting off the lower old leaves can promote coloring and improve fruit quality.

By cutting off the side branches and old leaves, the fruit setting rate and fruit quality can be improved and the occurrence of diseases and insect pests can be reduced.

Note: when the lateral branches grow to about 5 cm, it is most appropriate to cut them off. Premature pruning of lateral branches is easy to cause physiological leaf curl disease; Cutting off the side branches too late will not have the desired effect.
