Cavity milling in UG programming is generally used for rough machining of machined shapes.
1) Compared with the blank shape, milling method is nothing more than pocket shape or island shape. 2)UG rough machining separates milling cavity from milling core, which can be understood as one feeding from inside to outside and the other from outside to inside, but the feeding methods are different. 3) It is more reliable to use cavity milling for slotting and milling pocket cavities. When milling the island core, pay attention to cutting too much. Generally, the height of excessive cutting is set to be higher than the maximum height of the part to ensure that it will not be over-cut. When milling the cavity shape, the height of the lifting tool can only be set to the height of the previous layer to improve the machining efficiency. (If there is a convex island in the pocket, it should also be set according to the previous situation and the shape of the milling island to ensure that it will not be over-cut. )

Finally, personally, there are only two shapes, concave and convex. Rough machining should be based on different conditions (pockets or islands). Pay attention to setting the cutting direction and lifting height respectively.
