It may be because the file association method is wrong, so it is suggested to change the associated file. As for the data recovery software, is it useful, and winhex, can it be used? The problem is that the file was originally encrypted and used the encryption function of ntfs partition format, but now it can't be opened for some reason. If the WORD file appears garbled, there are two ways to solve it:
First, the alternative format method
This method is to save the damaged Word document in another format.
1. Open the damaged document and click the File/Save As menu. In the save type list, select RTF format, then click the save button and close word.
2. Open the RTF file you just saved, and use Save As to save the file as a word document again. Now open this Word file, and you will find that the file has been restored. If the file cannot be recovered after being converted into rtf format, you can convert the file into plain text format (*. Txt), and then return to the Word format. Of course, converting to txt file will lose information such as pictures.
Second, the reformatting method.
There is a hidden location in Word, which is used to save various format information in the document. You can restore the file by deleting these format information.
1. After opening the damaged document, click the Tools/Options menu, select the Edit tab, uncheck the "Use smart paragraph selection range" check box, and then click the button. So you can repair the file.
2. Select all contents except the last paragraph, and then paste and copy these contents into the new word file. You can copy the important materials into the computer first.
