The location of the Martyrs Monument of Huazhong Branch of Lu Xun Art College is Beiqinzhuang, Qingfeng Town, jianhu county. The monument is 13 meters high, with a golden five-pointed star embedded in the top and a red flag inserted under the five-pointed star, which symbolizes that under the guidance of the party, the banner of revolutionary literature and art will fly forever. The Huazhong Branch of Lu Xun Art College was founded in the spring of 194 1, with its school site in Doulv Temple and Yancheng Children's Home, and its president is Liu Shaoqi. The hospital is divided into four departments: literature, drama, music and art, an ordinary class and a juvenile class, with more than 400 teachers and students. Just as this new seedling of literature and art was thriving, the Japanese puppet troops concentrated more than 17,000 people from Dongtai, Xinghua, Sheyang Lake, Chenjiayang and other places to attack Yancheng, where the headquarters of the New Fourth Army is located, in an attempt to encroach on the newly rebuilt new military headquarters. Acting commander Chen Yi mobilized against "mopping-up" according to the decision of the Central China Bureau, and called on all troops, institutions and schools stationed in Yancheng to disperse and transfer. The teachers and students of Lu Yi Huazhong Branch left Yancheng on June 22nd 194 1 and moved to Huang Jiaxiang, west of Yancheng and north of Longgang. Two days later, they moved to the fifth district of Yancheng County (now Qingfeng Township, jianhu county), where they arranged performances of cultural programs to promote resistance against Japan and save the nation. In just a few days, more than 500 young farmers were mobilized to join the Anti-Japanese Self-Defense Force. At the end of June, they moved to the vicinity of Huduo Town, where more than 400 people lived in several big villages such as Gaoma. On July 10, the Central China Bureau and the headquarters of the New Fourth Army also moved to Zuozhuang, Tangnian and West Station, 7 kilometers north of Huduo Town.
In order to cope with the rapidly changing situation of the struggle against "mopping up", Qian Junrui, the propaganda minister of the Political Department of the Military Region, came to the headquarters of the Central China Branch of Lu Yi and conveyed the instructions of the political commissar of Liu Shaoqi and the acting commander of Chen Yi, asking them to disperse and transfer immediately. According to the instructions of the military department, Lu Yi Huazhong Branch divided all teachers and students into two teams. A team is made up of most teachers and students from the departments of academy, literature and fine arts. Huang Yuan, He Shide, the department heads of music, and Mo Pu, the department heads of fine arts, are responsible for the transfer of the Army Department. The other team is composed of most teachers and students of drama department and music department and teachers and students of ordinary class, with about 200 people, with Meng Bo of ordinary class, Qiu Dongping, former director of music department, and Summer Xu, director of drama department as the team leader. During the handover, Meng Bo served as secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Second Detachment, and Qiu Dongping and Summer Xu served as members. Zhang Ping, Director-General of Xin 'an Tourism Group, Jason, Head of Subei Branch of New Tourism Group, and four comrades, Zhang Mu and Zuo Lin, also moved with the second team. In order to ensure the safety of the Second Team during the transfer, Staff Liu of the People's Armed Forces Department and eight people, including Xu Yitai, Zhou Zhanxiong, Cong, Xin Xu, Lu Guang, Lu Jun and Xu, formed a combat squad, each with a gun as a guard.
1941On the evening of July 23rd, the Second Hospital of Lu Yi Huazhong Branch set out from Taojiashe, east of Zuozhuang, Juntun, and prepared to go to Wangzhuang, west of Yancheng. At this time, Huduo Town was occupied by a Japanese squadron and nearly a regiment of puppet troops. In order to avoid the enemy, the second team of Lu Yi Huazhong Branch chose the fifth district of Yancheng County, which has a good foundation for mass work of our party, as the marching route, passing through Jijiazhuang and Beiqinzhuang, and then reaching Louwangzhuang.
In the early morning of July 24th, when more than 200 teachers and students were camping in Beiqinzhuang, they met the Japanese puppet troops who came to "mop up" the Central Bureau of the Central Soviet Area in China and reported to Jianghuai Daily, and were surrounded by a small group of Japanese troops and a squadron of puppet troops. Teachers and students fought fiercely with the enemy. In this encounter, more than 30 teachers and students such as Qiu Dongping, Li Rui, Yuan, Zhang, Cong, Shi Shi, Xu Hui, Wu Bin, Dani, Wei Zhi and Xin Li, and Zhang Ping and Jason, the heads of Xin 'an tour group, died unfortunately, and more than 60 people such as Shao Wei, Shi Liu, Zuo Lin and Zhang Xiu were captured by the enemy. Four people were injured and eight people died in the local area.
At about 2 pm, after the Japanese puppet troops retreated, the escapees came back, and the scattered teachers and students gathered together. I saw the bodies of the teachers and students of the second team of Lu Yi Huazhong Branch lying on the ridge of the North Qin Zhuang, in the middle of the rice field, beside the ditch river, scattered with blood-stained luggage, violins, cosmetics and manuscript paper. They burst into tears and mourned the loss of their leaders, comrades-in-arms and relatives. With the help of local people, they tearfully buried Summer Xu's body with other martyrs in the wasteland southeast of Beiqinzhuang, and Qiu Dongping's body was buried by the river northeast of Ji Gu Temple.
194165438+February 14 at two o'clock in the afternoon, Yan 'an literary and art circles held a memorial service for young writer Qiu Dongping and other martyrs at the Cultural Club. Ai Qing, Ding Ling, Ouyang Shan, Huang Mei and Liu attended the memorial service. Over the years, the cadres of Beiqinzhuang deeply miss the martyrs of the Second Team of Lu Yi Huazhong Branch. They held offerings at festivals and paid tribute to the tombs of the martyrs. The local government specially renamed Dongping Township, Summer Xu Village and Lu Yi Brigade, where the martyrs died, as a memorial. 1985, the party Committee and government of Qingfeng Town raised more than 30,000 yuan to build a monument in front of Beiqin Zhuang. Li Yimang, the former chairman of the Jiangsu-Anhui Border Region Government, wrote the name of the monument "Martyrs Monument of Luxun Art College in Central China". The Party History Office of Jianhu County Committee, the County Cultural Bureau and other units held the showroom of Lu Yi Martyrs Museum in Central China and printed the Martyrs Memorial Book of Lu Yi in Central China. General Zhang Aiping wrote an inscription for the showroom and commemorative album: "The martyrs of Lu Yi in Central China who died in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression are immortal!" After more than 20 years of development, the cemetery has become a patriotic education base in provinces and cities, and more than 10 thousand people visit it every year. Now the restored cemetery monument and showroom are completely new.
