Achievements and honors of Tang Jinbo
He is good at repairing hand tendon injury, diagnosing wrist instability, clinical surgical repair of wrist joint injury, and autologous vein bundle transplantation to treat peripheral nerve defects. He has won the China Youth Science and Technology Award, the Jiangsu Young Scientist Award and the National Science and Technology Progress Award, and the Emanuel Kaplan Award of the American Society of Hand Surgery. His research on flexor tendon theory and injury treatment in no man's land is the first at home and abroad, which plays an important guiding role in the principles and methods of tendon injury repair in flexor tendon sheath, and improves the curative effect from 60-70% to 85%. This zoning theory and processing principle have great influence in international academic circles, and it is called "Down zoning" abroad. He put forward a new theory of tendon healing, established a new theory and method of tendon sheath repair of flexor tendon, summarized and put forward a new concept of syndrome, namely "tendon sheath syndrome", and became the main founder of modern tendon sheath repair and reconstruction theory. The designed tendon suture method was called "Down's tendon suture method". These achievements are regarded as epoch-making achievements of hand surgery in the past 70 years, which have solved the problems for more than half a century. The study of wrist instability firstly studies the occurrence and incidence of joint instability caused by distal forearm fracture in China, which has attracted the attention of hand surgeons and has important guiding significance for dealing with distal forearm fracture and wrist injury. He has published more than 50 papers at home and abroad, ranking first among domestic scholars in this field. His work has promoted the development of this field in China, improved the status of hand surgery in international academic circles, and played a huge social benefit in the medical practice of hand surgery. Tang Jinbo has quick thinking, rigorous style of study, practical work style and excellent scientific research quality.

Professor Tang Jinbo was awarded an honorary member by the Australian Society of Hand Surgery. The Australian Society of Hand Surgery believes that Professor Tang Jinbo's outstanding work has changed the basic framework of hand tendon surgery on a global scale, made a breakthrough contribution to the repair of flexor tendon in Area 2, and introduced multidisciplinary advanced technology into hand surgery. Many of his contributions have global influence, so he decided to award this honor.

Honorary members of the Australian Society of Hand Surgery are only awarded to pioneers who have made initial contributions to the field of hand surgery on a global scale, had a significant global impact on the development of hand surgery, or trained a generation of master scholars in hand surgery on a global scale. So far, there are no more than 30, and there are only three in Australia.

Professor Tang Jinbo was invited as the editor-in-chief of European Journal of Hand Surgery. It is reported that this is also the first time that the European Journal of Hand Surgery has hired a scholar from outside Europe as the editor-in-chief of the magazine. European Journal of Hand Surgery, as one of the two most influential authoritative publications of English hand surgery in SCI magazine, is the earliest hand surgery magazine with a history of half a century. Its predecessor is the Hand of the British Society of Hand Surgery and the British Journal of Hand Surgery.

The appointment was approved by the British Association of Hand Surgeons and the Magazine Committee through recommendation and voting. Over the past half century, 10 international experts in hand surgery have entered the editor-in-chief group of this journal. Professor Tang Jinbo is the first member of the editorial board of the magazine outside Europe, and has been recognized by international colleagues for his contribution to the international hand surgery field for 20 years. At present, he is also a member of the editorial board of two most influential international authoritative English journals of hand surgery.
