How does orthodontics work?
I've had my teeth straightened and I'm still wearing a retainer. Transparent plastic dental mold to prevent tooth deformation. It is also made of steel. Transparent ones look better, but generally 100-200 yuan).

At the beginning, the doctor will help you make a pre-orthodontic dental model with toothpaste and the like. Then, if the upper and lower rows of teeth are to be corrected, small blue rubber bands should be placed on both sides of the penultimate tooth of the upper, lower, left and right teeth, leaving a gap for the steel wire sleeve. Usually from that night to the next day, your teeth will be very sour.

Then go back for a follow-up visit in two or three days (I don't remember the specific days). The doctor will help you install steel braces then. It will take a long time, because you have to stick a small steel wire (the name is forgotten) on almost every tooth, and then fix the teeth with steel wire from top to bottom.

At first, it takes about a week to run in, and sometimes you even need to go to the hospital to adjust the steel wire (because the steel wire is sometimes too long, it will scratch the meat). Then my teeth will hurt for a week, and I can only eat liquid food this week, which is very painful. The first three months will basically be in a state of oral ulcer, because braces will always scrape your mouth, and it is also very uncomfortable.

After wearing braces, you need to see a doctor for a follow-up visit every month. You should replace the steel wire or adjust the braces according to the correction of your teeth. Every time I remove my teeth, it hurts for three days ... by the way, I said that the small steel sheet to be attached to each tooth should be screwed up with thin steel wire to fix the main steel wire. Those thin steel wires scratch your mouth easily and sometimes break. Be prepared to go to the hospital to change the thin steel wire at any time ~ ~ ~

It should be noted that the frequency and time of brushing teeth will increase, and toothpicks should be prepared, because what you eat is easy to stay on your braces. And don't eat hard things when wearing braces, and don't chew apples and other fruits directly, but cut them into small pieces to eat.

Some people may need to put two rubber bands between their teeth to pull down their teeth, which will hurt more (fortunately, I don't need it ...) Finally, even if the braces are removed, we should pay attention to wearing retainers every day. Wear it 24 hours a day for the first three months, and then wear it after brushing your teeth after meals. Wear it every night after that. The retainer is also very uncomfortable when it is first put on, and the mouth is easy to be sour. Wearing braces is a toothache. )

Moreover, the corrected teeth are easy to block when eating at the dental base, which is also a great pain. The corrected teeth will loosen, so be careful not to eat hard things all the time in the future, or they will still deform.

After taking off the steel braces, my teeth will turn yellow, because I didn't brush the front of my teeth before ... so I suggest that if my teeth are not terrible, I'd better try not to correct them.
