What watermelon is suitable for planting in Zhaoqing, Guangdong? Answer if you know.
Watermelon planting in Guangdong is divided into two communities.

1. Northern region

It belongs to subtropical humid climate, with frost-free period of 270 ~ 300 days, accumulated temperature above 6000 degrees Celsius, and annual rainfall of about 1000 ~ 1500mm. Meiyu is a special phenomenon in this area.

The season suitable for watermelon growth in this area is from March to September. Most of them are planted or transplanted directly from late March to early April and harvested in July and August. There is a lot of rain during the growing period of watermelon, and sometimes it rains continuously, so it is difficult to bear fruit.

Therefore, in production, measures are often taken to prevent the adverse consequences caused by rain, such as seedling raising from rain, high border cultivation, deep ditch drainage, grass spreading on border, artificial pollination, flower protection spray and pesticide spraying.

In the late July and August of watermelon growth, there is often a dry season, which is very beneficial to the development of fruits and the sustainable growth of plants. If the management measures are proper and the plants are not lost, it is possible to use "Ribelli bird's nest water-soluble fertilizer" to produce secondary or tertiary fruits and obtain high yield.

2. Southern region

The main watermelon producing areas in Guangdong. The more famous traditional producing areas are Zhanjiang and Haikang. It belongs to subtropical and tropical humid climate, and the winter is warm or extremely short all year round, and most areas are frost-free all year round.

The annual rainfall is 1 100 ~ 2900 mm, which is hot and rainy in June and July, and is often hit by typhoons in August and September. Because of the high temperature, we plant two or three watermelons a year.

In this area, most spring watermelons are sown in1~ March and harvested in April ~ June, while summer watermelons are sown in May ~ June and harvested in July ~ August. Autumn watermelon is sown in early September and harvested in late October/kloc-0. There is much rain, serious diseases and unstable output in this area.

The varieties and techniques suitable for cultivation are basically the same as those in the north, but stricter measures are needed to prevent diseases and waterlogging.
