Can teeth be corrected if I have dental caries (cavities)?

Teeth with dental caries are severely demineralized and therefore have a brittle texture. If the dental caries is severe, it is not recommended to do it. It's not serious and can be done. Notes on orthodontics (very important): Orthodontics generally requires wearing braces (braces) for 2 years. During this period, it is quite painful. The teeth are weak and you can only eat soft things. If the teeth are not very ugly, it is recommended not to do it. If you must do it, you must be mentally prepared to suffer for more than three and a half years. After removing the braces, you will have to wear a retainer for another one and a half to two years. It will eventually bounce back a bit. The face shape will be improved. The best time for correction is after the permanent teeth have completely erupted, which is when you are in your teens. The older you get, the longer you need orthodontics and the longer you wear retainers. Since it takes a long time, you must go to a provincial or municipal dental hospital or people's hospital and find an expert with a title of deputy chief physician or above to do it from beginning to end without changing doctors in the middle. Never go to a small clinic. Some private dentistry advertisements are over-the-top, but in fact the staff turnover rate is very high, doctors often change jobs, and there is no insurance. It is recommended to go to a large public hospital, where doctors have stable jobs and generally do not change jobs, so do not look for a new doctor. Before orthodontic treatment, it is recommended to thoroughly clean your teeth. Because it is easier to develop dental calculus during orthodontic treatment. When wearing braces, brushing your teeth is very inconvenient, and it is easy to leave hygienic dead spots, allowing plaque to breed and lead to dental caries, and it is also easier to develop dental calculus. There are many people who get tooth decay during orthodontic treatment. Therefore, you need to pay special attention to oral hygiene during orthodontic treatment. Strongly recommended: During the orthodontic period, use fluoride mouthwash after each meal, which can effectively remove dead spots and dental calculus and enhance the texture of teeth. Do not use medicated mouthwash. Use a good quality fluoride toothpaste. After taking off your braces, you should also clean your teeth thoroughly. Note: Wearing a retainer is very, very important. Wearing braces is more painful. After removing braces, people feel very comfortable and have thoughts of breaking free. However, you must not be careless at this time. You must put on a retainer immediately after taking off braces. Be sure to wear your retainer all day for the first 8 to 10 months and only remove it when brushing your teeth. Then you can wear it every night and no longer need to wear it during the day for another 12 months. If you wear a retainer strictly, the degree of rebound will be small and acceptable. Note: Wear the retainer longer than the doctor said. If the doctor says to wear it full-time for the first six months, you need to wear it full-time for the first 9 months. Some people even have to wear retainers for life. Orthodontics does not affect the taste of the teeth, the gums will not shrink, and the teeth will not become loose. People with crooked front teeth can undergo orthodontics. The most appropriate time to do it is after the child’s permanent teeth have all grown in, which is when they are teenagers. Adults can also do it, but the older you are, the longer it takes. Protect your teeth, share my decades of life experience, and say goodbye to tooth decay completely (my original work) My valuable experience and painful lessons in fighting tooth decay (caries) for decades prove that only fluoride toothpaste and fluoride mouthwash can prevent tooth decay. moth effect. Fluoride-free toothpastes, such as various medicated toothpastes, xylitol toothpastes, and calcium-containing toothpastes, have no anti-moth effect at all. Use non-fluoride toothpaste, even if you brush your teeth carefully and correctly after every meal, it will not be of much use. Chewing gum is even more useless. Every word and sentence below is my personal experience, condensed from decades of hard work, and is by no means a copy of other people's articles. Whether a person's teeth are susceptible to cavities is determined when the permanent teeth erupt. Some people rarely brush their teeth and often eat sweets, but they don’t have any cavities on their teeth; some people take good care of them every day and never eat sweets, but they still get cavities. This is because the former has good genetics and the body can easily absorb calcium. When permanent teeth grow, the teeth are well calcified and have a fine texture, so dental bacteria cannot adhere to the tooth surface. The latter's teeth are not well calcified, and there are tiny gaps on the surface. Plaque can easily adhere to them, and it is almost impossible to remove them with the friction agent in toothpaste. Even if you brush your teeth until they are worn down, plaque will still shamelessly stick to your teeth. God is never fair. Those born as the latter are born unlucky and must work harder than ordinary people to protect their teeth. If you belong to the latter, brushing your teeth in the morning and evening, rinsing your mouth after meals, and not eating sweets and snacks are still far from enough. Because I am such a strict self-discipline, my teeth are extremely clean every day, but they still get cavities, which is disappointing! You must use fluoride toothpaste or mouthwash to get it done! The principle of fluoride to prevent cavities (it’s rather esoteric, you don’t need to read it): Oral bacteria will release organic acids during carbohydrate metabolism. Bacteria form a layer of adherent plaque on the tooth surface, and the organic acids produced by the bacteria can remain in close contact with the tooth surface for a long time. The main component of teeth is hydroxyapatite, which is easily dissolved by organic acids, generating hydrogen phosphate ions and calcium ions that diffuse outside the teeth and are washed away by saliva. After fluoride ions are absorbed, they replace the hydroxyl groups of hydroxyapatite in tissues and teeth through the process of adsorption or ion exchange, converting them into fluoroapatite, forming a hard protective layer on the surface of the teeth, increasing the hardness. Enhanced acid corrosion resistance and inhibits the activity of acidophilic bacteria. I am exclusively dedicating my own tips on protecting teeth (personal tips), which I have gained over decades of hard work. Dentists will 100% never tell you these tips. Tips to prevent tooth decay: 1. After brushing your teeth with fluoride toothpaste, rinse your mouth with foam in your mouth for two to three minutes, let the foam flow between your lips and teeth, and then spit it out. At this time, fluoride ions are dissolved in the foam and are easily absorbed by the teeth, especially in small cavities. Do not swallow. This method is particularly effective.

Thanks to this method, the plaque that used to be in my mouth is now gone, and it can strengthen the fragile teeth. Be careful not to use toothpaste that is too spicy as it can irritate your throat. 2. To brush your teeth, use a horizontal brushing method on the chewing surface with a back and forth sawing motion. Use the vertical brushing method for the inner and outer surfaces of the teeth (i.e. lingual and buccal surfaces). When brushing the upper teeth, first place the bristles of the toothbrush lightly at the junction of the gums and teeth, and then use the up and down movements of the wrist like a comb to brush the bristles. Brush downward from the gums along the gaps between the teeth, repeating the same area several times; when brushing the lower teeth, brush from bottom to top in the same way, so as to clean away food residue and plaque in the gaps between the teeth. 3. Use a fluoride-containing mouthwash every 3 days. Mouthwash can penetrate deep into the gaps between teeth that are difficult to reach with toothpaste and remove tartar and plaque. No need to use more. 4. Brush your teeth after meals. If this is not possible, rinse your mouth with warm water after a meal. Do not just rinse it and then spit it out. Instead, rinse it vigorously in your mouth 100 times, so that it will be effective. Also rinse your mouth after eating snacks. 5. Use fluoride toothpaste from famous brands, such as China, Colgate, and Crest. The texture is gelatinous. Pay attention to the fluoride content. The national standard stipulates that the total fluoride content must be greater than or equal to 0.04% of the total weight of the toothpaste and less than or equal to 0.15%; soluble fluorine or free fluorine must be greater than or equal to 0.04%. Generally, use 0.11%. If there is a lot of serious plaque, use 0.14% to 0.15%. After brushing for one month, the plaque will disappear obviously. If you persist for 3 months, the plaque will be invisible. Don't use whitening toothpaste, it will make your teeth brittle! 6. Experience on using toothpaste: I used to use Zhonghua, Liangmianzhen, Black, and Colgate, but now I only use Crest. In the past, there were still some black stains on the teeth. After using Crest, the stains are gone. There are articles online saying that Crest's Fluoride formula has a high absorption rate of fluoride. But this is just my personal experience and is for your reference only. 7. Plaque, very tiny cavities, and very shallow cavities can be completely treated with fluoride toothpaste, and there is no need to fill them! Tips for preventing tooth wear: I only use toothbrushes with very fine bristles (fine bristles), which cause less damage to tooth enamel. Tips for preventing loose teeth and caring for gums: 1. Every time you brush your teeth, massage the gums with your fingers to promote blood circulation in the gums and effectively prevent gum recession and loose teeth. The fingers are very soft and will not cause any harm to the gums. Method: After rinsing your mouth, place your clean right index finger on the gum mucosa, massage up and down from the tooth root to the crown and along the gum level in the front and back direction, and massage the upper, lower, left and right inner and outer gums in sequence for several minutes. 2. Eat more fruits and vegetables and supplement VC, which is good for gum growth. Brush your teeth with warm water to slow down gum recession! Of course, if a hole has already been formed, it must be filled as soon as possible! Otherwise, food residues will produce acid in the cavities, and the toothbrush will not be able to brush them, which will further decay your tooth enamel and dentin, and may also cause pulpitis. The current filling is a polymer resin material, which does not conduct cold or heat, so you can eat and drink as you please. After filling, use fluoride toothpaste. Many people report that cavity fillings fall out within a few years. This is because the teeth around the cavity are severely demineralized and fragile, so the filling can easily fall out. Tips for preventing cavity fillings from falling off: 1. Fluoride toothpaste can significantly enhance the texture of the demineralized area, making it remineralized and hardened so that the filling material will not fall off easily. 2. Don’t eat anything too hard. Note on fluoride: As long as fluoride toothpaste that meets national standards is not swallowed, it will only be absorbed by the teeth and not by the bones. Decades of research by the international medical community have proven that local tooth fluoridation is the most effective means of preventing dental caries and is very safe. Fluoride enters the bones and causes bone fluorosis. Therefore, fluoride toothpaste is very safe and there is no need to worry at all. Do not use it for children with imperfect swallowing function. Do not use it in areas with high fluoride. You can use it safely in other places. According to survey data in the United States in the 1950s, there were an average of 15 cavities per American. Later, fluoride toothpaste was vigorously promoted, and now there are almost no cavities. Everyone in Hong Kong uses fluoride toothpaste, and Hong Kong dentists have almost no cavities to fill. Regarding teeth whitening: As long as your teeth are healthy, don’t pursue excessive whitening. Most whitening products are chemical-based and can make teeth brittle. Healthy tooth enamel is inherently light yellow, and excessive whitening can be harmful. The white teeth in advertisements and movies are all fake and seriously mislead the public. Some celebrities use whitening strips before filming movies and can maintain their white teeth for several months. More celebrities are full of porcelain teeth. I hope these tips of mine can help you. I myself have been plagued by tooth decay for decades, which is like a nightmare. I have been to the dentist countless times, and the doctor has never told me exactly what I should do. I have attached great importance to dental care since I was a child. I rarely eat snacks, brush my teeth carefully every day, and rinse my mouth after meals, but there are still cavities. After 2001, through self-exploration, I gradually got rid of the torture of dental caries. I deeply realize that doctors will only treat you and never teach you how to prevent them. The above is a crocostone original. Having good teeth can add 10 years to your life and improve your quality of life. I hope my method can bring good news to people who are born with bad teeth. I sincerely hope that every Chinese person will have no cavities, smile forever, and live in peace and prosperity.
