Mengzi county pays special attention to pear tree pruning in summer and carries out comprehensive management technical training in time.
On May 26th and 27th, the Fruit and Vegetable Station of the County Agriculture Bureau, in conjunction with the local agricultural service center, held two training courses on summer pruning and comprehensive management of pear trees in Mingjiu Town and Zhicun Town, training 52 students and distributing 50 technical materials on "Key Points of Annual Management of Pear Trees", which achieved the expected results.
Pear is the fourth largest fruit variety in Mengzi County. According to the statistics at the end of 2009, the county's cultivated land area has reached 15953 mu, mainly distributed in Laozhai, Mingjiu and Zhicun towns. However, because the cultivation techniques can't keep up, the management is extensive, the drug use is not standardized, and the yield and high-quality fruit rate are very low. In order to make the pear industry in our county bigger and stronger, develop it into pollution-free standardized production, and improve the economic benefits of growers as soon as possible, the Fruit and Vegetable Station of County Agriculture Bureau began to implement the pollution-free standardized cultivation demonstration project of high-quality pears in Zhicun in 2009, and expanded it to Mingjiu Town on 20 10, with a demonstration area of 500 mu. It is hoped that through the implementation of the demonstration model, the development of pear industry in this county will be comprehensively promoted. This two-day technical training is mainly based on the growth characteristics of pears in summer. The training contents mainly include: 1. Fixed stem technology of young pear trees: 2. Pruning technology of pear trees in summer, that is, specific operation techniques such as bud wiping, core removal, tip twisting, branch taking, branch winding and girdling; 3. The shaping technology of pear; 4. Pest control and fertilizer and water management technology.
At the training meeting, the technicians not only carefully taught the carefully prepared contents, but also actively interacted with the growers and seriously answered various questions raised by farmers. Because the training content is rich, practical and easy to understand, the training meeting was a complete success and was well received by the participants.
