Discussion on the employment situation and countermeasures of clinical medical graduates

With the rapid development of higher medical education, the running conditions of medical colleges have been greatly improved, the enrollment scale has been continuously expanded, and the quantity and quality of clinical medical graduates have been greatly improved. However, the overall employment situation of graduates in China is grim, and the employment situation of clinical medical graduates is not optimistic. Therefore, we investigated and analyzed the employment intention of 462 clinical medical graduates from the First Department of Clinical Medicine in 2006.

First, the employment status of clinical medical graduates

(1) The number of graduates majoring in clinical medicine is increasing, and the difficulty of employment is gradually increasing.

In recent years, the employment situation of clinical medical graduates has changed. The shortage of clinical medical graduates has changed into oversupply, and the difficulty of employment is increasing day by day. Due to the expansion of medical colleges and universities, the total number of graduates majoring in clinical medicine has increased greatly, which has intensified the employment competition. For example, the number of graduates majoring in clinical medicine in our hospital has increased from more than 200 five years ago to 85 1 person this year. In addition, at present, the development focus of most hospitals is not to expand the scale, but to focus on the urgently needed professionals with certain qualifications, and the situation of accepting a large number of graduates will not exist. Therefore, it is increasingly difficult for graduates majoring in clinical medicine to find jobs.

(B) Clinical medical graduates have an outdated concept of choosing jobs and high employment expectations.

At present, there are some problems in the employment view of clinical medical graduates in our hospital. Many students have a narrow concept of employment, lack of broad industry vision and lack of ideological preparation for entrepreneurship and innovation. For many years, graduates majoring in clinical medicine have a strong certainty of employment compared with graduates of other majors, and the employment situation has been good, which makes them lack the sense of competition, urgency and a little sense of superiority. Most graduates are optimistic about big cities and economically developed coastal areas, and position their careers in cities, big hospitals and units with good economic benefits, reflecting their mentality of pursuing high salary, ease and fame, and their employment expectations are too high. Through our investigation, it is found that among 462 clinical medicine graduates in the first department of clinical medicine in our hospital in 2006, 9 1% of the graduates tend to work in provincial and municipal units, and 9% of the graduates are willing to work in county-level units, but none of them consider the units below the township level; 72.6% graduates tend to be employed in tertiary hospitals, while 27.4% graduates are willing to be employed in secondary hospitals, while tertiary hospitals are neglected. 88% of graduates think that their monthly salary should be above 1000 yuan, or even above 2000 yuan. However, the medical and health institutions in big cities and developed areas are becoming increasingly saturated, and the competition in the medical talent market is becoming increasingly fierce. When enrolling graduates, the problem to be considered has changed from quantity to quality. In principle, comprehensive medical institutions in large and medium-sized cities and county-level medical institutions in economically developed areas all need master's degrees, followed by CET-6 and computer certificate. Therefore, the expectations of graduates majoring in clinical medicine are too high, which makes it difficult to find jobs.

(C) the contradiction between supply and demand of clinical medical graduates

The main performance is: 1. There are many graduates majoring in clinical medicine, but there is not much demand. 2. The imbalance between supply and demand at the education level, and the tendency of medical units at all levels to streamline institutions and divert personnel, makes it difficult for traditional clinical medical graduates to absorb a large number of undergraduate graduates. The demand for high-level medical talents is increasingly urgent, and the demand level for talent structure is rising. 3. Unbalanced supply and demand between regions. Economically developed areas and some central cities have little demand for medical institutions, but high requirements. There are many graduates who want to go, but few graduates who meet the requirements; There are many hospitals in underdeveloped areas and rural towns, but few graduates are willing to go.

Second, the employment countermeasures of clinical medical graduates

(A) schools should provide employment guidance services.

1. In the previous orientation education for freshmen, some employment guidance can be added to help students set goals as early as possible and define their career ideals. Educating them about their personal career ideals is the planning and conception of their future careers, which must be based on reality.

2. After entering the school, before the internship, according to each student's different personality and learning situation, constantly educate students to prepare for employment and improve their abilities in all aspects. The employment guidance at this stage is mainly to accumulate one's own strength, earnestly study cultural courses, strengthen physical exercise, cultivate various interests, strive to improve the comprehensive quality, and lay a solid foundation for realizing the career ideal in the fierce professional competition.

In view of the fact that most students should start to implement their future goals during their internship, a period of time should be stipulated before entering the internship site to guide students to learn to sell themselves. At this point, our hospital has done a lot of work in recent years, such as offering employment guidance courses. In the future, we should strictly check attendance, enrich forms and enhance the effect. The main task of employment guidance at this stage is to publicize the employment policy, analyze the employment situation, and provide policy advice for graduates to join the army, apply for civil servants, and take the postgraduate entrance examination. Through the talent quality test, guide graduates to objectively evaluate themselves, correct employment goals in time, and establish reasonable employment expectations; Collect, process and utilize employment information comprehensively and reasonably; Simulate the employment scene and train knowledge-seeking skills, such as the writing of job application materials, the essentials, skills and precautions of interview and contract signing, and how to sell yourself.

4. There is still half a year's school time after the internship, and different guidance can be given according to different situations: for students whose whereabouts are not clear, guide them to change their roles as soon as possible and adapt to society. Carefully organize various job fairs to create a good external environment for graduates to apply for jobs. It is undoubtedly a major turning point in life for graduates to complete their studies, move towards society and move towards new jobs. The first problem that college graduates facing the society face is how to adapt to the society as soon as possible and smoothly realize the role change from school to society, from students to workers, and from undergraduate to graduate. Therefore, it is also necessary to provide relevant guidance for the students who have definitely gone, which will also help the receiving unit to satisfy the graduates of our college and improve the reputation of Dr. mussel.

(B) students should strive to improve their cultural knowledge and comprehensive ability.

1. Cultural knowledge

First, solid basic knowledge. Basic knowledge is the foundation of knowledge structure. Graduates majoring in clinical medicine need rich and solid basic knowledge whether they choose this major or related majors. In recent years, medical technology has developed rapidly and knowledge update has been accelerated. The knowledge update here is based on the basic knowledge. Today, it is impossible for medical students to find and choose jobs, and their professional posts will change at any time. In order to work, they must have a solid and rich basic knowledge. During school, we should expand our knowledge, and the wider the basic knowledge, the better.

The second is deep professional knowledge. After all, graduates majoring in clinical medicine are high-level professionals with strong medical specialties trained by medical colleges and universities. Therefore, the professional knowledge of clinical medicine should be the core part of the knowledge structure, and it is also the characteristic of the knowledge structure of medical science and technology talents. The combination of professional knowledge and knowledge has become an important requirement for high-tech talents in current society. The United States conducted a five-year survey of 13 1 1 scientists. The results show that successful people are rarely professionals who only know one subject, but win with generalists. For example, most Nobel Prize winners are generalists who conduct comprehensive research. We college students should study hard and get certificates such as diploma and degree certificate.

The third is to have certain other knowledge and skills. In addition to mastering excellent professional knowledge, it is easier for college students to master a skill, such as music, sports, calligraphy, painting, driving and so on. In order to succeed in job hunting.

2. The ability that should be possessed

The first is the ability to adapt to society. To adapt to society, we need to adjust our ideas, face challenges bravely and integrate into society. The ability to adapt to society is the embodiment of a person's comprehensive quality.

The second is interpersonal skills. According to statistics, in the remaining 16 hours, except for 8 hours of sleep, about 70% of the time is spent on communication and information communication. Graduates of clinical medicine should pay attention to the following points when cultivating interpersonal skills: First, boldly participate, seize opportunities, and actively participate in associations and social practice activities. Second, we must be psychologically compatible. When dealing with people, you should have a broad mind, regardless of personal gains and losses, and be a person with lofty ideals, cheerful, open and humble. Students who are good at communication during college often appear more confident and mature in job hunting. Third, be honest and trustworthy. No one wants to be good friends with dishonest people. Only by being honest can we communicate with others. Fourth, equality and mutual benefit. As a kind of ability, we emphasize the equality of personality. Helping others is helping yourself. People who take care of the overall situation and put others before themselves will be recognized and admired by people at any time and on any occasion.

The third is organizational management ability. It is impossible for all graduates majoring in clinical medicine to take up leadership positions and engage in management, but it is possible for everyone to apply organizational management skills in their future work, which is the new requirement of modern society for comprehensive talents. For a long time, party member student cadres among college graduates have always been the priority of employers, and the important reason is that they attach importance to their organizational management ability.

The fourth is practical ability. For graduates majoring in clinical medicine, whether engaged in teaching, scientific research or at the grassroots level, the strength of hands-on ability will directly affect the exertion of energy. Therefore, we should pay special attention to practice and strive to improve our practical ability in the process of clinical practice.

The fifth is the ability to innovate. Students majoring in clinical medicine should take the initiative to participate in scientific research interest groups in various teaching and research departments of our college to accumulate knowledge and increase their talents; Learn from expert teachers, cultivate imagination and creative thinking, and learn all-round and multi-level ways of thinking.

The sixth is competitiveness. College students are the most competitive employment groups. Competition is a demonstration of the strength of clinical medical graduates. Among graduates with the same academic qualifications, foreign language ability (CET-4 or CET-6), computer ability (national Grade-2 or Grade-3 or Grade-4) and so on will arouse the special interest of employers.

The seventh is the ability to express. It has two aspects: oral expression and written expression. Oral expression ability should first dare to speak, and college students should dare to think, do and speak. Secondly, we should have something to say. College students should read more books and newspapers, care about state affairs, master more information and pay attention to topics that people are generally concerned about, so that they can have something to say. You can't just talk about your major all your life and talk about nothing else. Third, be good at talking. College students should not only learn psychology, dialectics, grammar and rhetoric, but also learn some speaking and debating skills.

Although the employment situation of graduates majoring in clinical medicine is grim at present, as long as our school and students work together, cooperate with each other and find a correct position, each graduate can still find a job that suits him.
