The Five Seasons refers to the five Central Plains dynasties of the Later Liang, Later Tang, Later Jin, Later Han and Later Zhou, which successively ruled the Central Plains region. Due to political corruption, warlord separatism and other reasons, wars were frequent and social unrest occurred.
