As we know, the Tang Priest finally arrived at Nalanduo Temple in Tianzhu, and then got the three Tibetan scriptures of Mahayana Buddhism. The TV version of Journey to the West is actually divided into two parts. The first is the story that happened in Datang. Guanyin Bodhisattva searched for Buddhist scriptures (Tang Priest) and arranged for his disciples (the Monkey King, Pig Bajie, Friar Sand and Bai) to protect him.
So is the name of Tang Priest's past life "Golden Cicada" written casually by the author, or is it meaningful? During our fifteen visits to the Journey to the West, the author gave us some hints.
This time, when the eagle hooked the sword to collect the little white dragon and Guanyin came to help Wukong collect the little white dragon, there was such a poem:
The Buddha said that there are three Tibetan scriptures in honey, and the Bodhisattva preached goodness all over the Great Wall.
Maha's quips spread all over the world, and Prajna's true words save ghosts.
As a result, the golden cicada shed its shell again and Xuanzang practiced again.
Just because the road blocked the eagle and worried about the flow, the dragon turned into a horse.
This statement is also highly consistent with the past experience of Tang Priest. Jin Chan was robbed of his true spirit and degraded to Tang Priest; After suffering, Tang Priest was reborn again and became a merit Buddha. Tang Priest was punished for reincarnation ten times. How did Tang Priest die these ten times?
The first nine times were eaten by Friar Sand, and then nine unsinkable skulls were formed. Guanyin Bodhisattva turned these nine skulls into a boat to help Tang Priest and his disciples cross the Liusha River. The reason why Jin Chan was reincarnated 10 times is to let Jin Chan know that it is better to ask for help than to ask for help. If you want to cross the quicksand river, you must cross yourself.
