Rose seed

The roses we usually see are already in bloom, and few people have seen the seeds of roses. But if you go to the market, you can see many merchants selling seeds, and you can also buy rose seeds online. So, can this rose seed really grow roses? Is there a difference between planting rose seeds and ordinary roses?

First, ensure the germination rate of rose seeds.

If you have sown rose seeds before, it is because you have not done enough seed treatment before sowing. Rose seeds are dormant, so it is impossible for the harvested seeds to germinate directly for sowing. First, the rose seeds should be soaked in warm water of about 40 degrees, then soaked for 4-6 hours after cooling, and then the seeds should be taken out, so that the soaked seeds are easy to germinate. After that, put the seeds into the soil (note: the soil needs to be loose, breathable and have good water retention capacity). Generally, 5~8 seeds can be planted in each container. After germination, leave a stronger one according to the growth status of the seedlings; Leave 1~3 seedlings between seedlings after germination as appropriate. After sowing, the container should be covered with plastic wrap (plastic wrap can also be used for convenient bags), and several holes should be punched in the plastic wrap to breathe. Put the container in the sun and keep the temperature at about 20 degrees. Most seeds can germinate after a week. After germination, the seedlings are strong and transplanted to the ground.

Second, the treatment of rose seedlings

1. Planting: It can be planted in the Yellow River basin and its south area and overwinter in the open. In the cold northern region, potted plants should be planted indoors and wintered. When potted, use mixed culture soil of humus soil, garden soil and river sand, and add proper amount of decomposed manure or cake fertilizer and compound fertilizer. After planting, water it 1 time, put it in the shade for a few days, and then move it to the sun for cultivation.

2. Light and temperature: Adequate sunshine can promote good growth. Ground planting and potted plants should be placed in sunny places and receive more than 4 hours of direct sunlight every day. Can not be placed in a place with insufficient indoor light for a long time. Enter the room in winter and put it in a sunny place. The suitable growth temperature is 12~28℃, and it can tolerate the low temperature of -20℃.

3. Water fertilization: Before planting, apply a proper amount of organic fertilizer into the tree hole, and then water it after planting. The requirement of water and fertilizer for ground-planted roses is not strict, and generally it can be fertilized three times. First, it is fat before flowering, and spring buds cover the shade.

Third, the planting method of roses

1. Land selection and soil preparation: Rose is drought-tolerant, and loam or sandy loam with sufficient sunshine, high and dry terrain, loose and fertile soil and good drainage should be selected. Apply 3000kg/667㎡ compost, turn it over for 20~30cm, and then level it for border.

2. Transplanting: digging holes according to row spacing 1.5~2m, plant spacing 0.6~0.8m and hole depth 15 ~ 25cm; The hole diameter is 30~40cm. Dig the bottom layer loose, apply a proper amount of soil mixed fertilizer, cover with 5cm fine soil, plant the grafted rose seedlings in the hole, level the roots around to make them stretch, then cover the hole with soil and pour the root water thoroughly.

3. Pruning: after flowering in late summer, pruning slender branches and white old branches, and pruning after defoliation in winter, mainly shortening and cutting off over-dense branches, pest branches and aging branches, which can promote the emergence of new branches and increase the number of buds. After 5-6 years of growth, roses should be renewed, rejuvenated and pruned. Before and after beginning of autumn, each plant (cluster) will keep a few strong branches, and the rest will be dug up by roots and replanted on another piece of land, thus expanding the cultivation area.

4. What if Rose is ill?

The main diseases of roses are powdery mildew and gray enzyme disease, powdery mildew is the most, and there are many commonly used drugs. We use black and white spirits. Tribes are effective, but they are too expensive. White powder appears at the place where powdery mildew occurs. You can cut off the diseased branches and spray them. Spray for about 3 days, once a day. The part with gray enzyme disease is like boiling hot water, with diseased buds and rotten petals. The method of prevention and treatment is to cut off the diseased part and spray it with water. Aphids are the most common pests on roses, and so are red spiders. Pests and diseases mainly lie in prevention. When you see that you are ill, cut off the diseased area first and throw it far away to prevent infection. Soil methods for pest control: effective for many pests and diseases. Try it when there is no medicine.

1. Garlic juice: Garlic juice is extracted after mashing, diluted with water and sprayed on the damaged plants immediately, which can prevent and control aphids, red spiders, scale insects, virus diseases and root rot.

2. Onion juice: Soak onion scales in water for 24 hours, then filter, and spray the damaged plants for 2-3 times with an interval of 5 days, which can prevent and control red spiders and aphids.

3. Tobacco soaking agent: soak 40 grams of tobacco foam in water for 48 hours, filter it, dilute it with water, add 2-3 grams of soap, and use it after dissolution, which can prevent thrips, aphids, jumping insects and so on.
