(1) stem fixing: In order to make the planted seedlings grow more branches in the plastic belt, the method of cutting at a certain height is called stem fixing. There are three purposes of fixing stem: first, to promote the development of big branches and provide conditions for selecting and retaining main branches; The other is to determine the trunk of the same height; The third is to balance the roots of underground injury and atrophy. Plastic tape refers to the branches that are pre-selected and dried and cultivated below the cutting buds. Therefore, the height of the stem should be the height of the trunk plus the width of the plastic belt, generally cut at 65 ~ 75 cm from the ground. Trees can be higher and short trees can be lower. There should be 8 ~ 10 full buds in the plastic belt with a width of 20 ~ 30 cm. The fixed drying period is generally carried out in the first year after planting and before germination. For varieties with low germination rate and weak branching ability, secondary drying method and planned cutting method can be used. The "secondary drying method" is the first time before germination, and the cutting position can be appropriately higher, and generally 2 ~ 3 more buds can be left. When the bud just germinated, the bud left at the top was cut off for the second time. This can weaken the tip advantage and promote multiple medium and long branches. "Planned carving method" is to carve the buds that need branching before germination, so as to promote timely germination and form long branches.

(1) Primary stem fixation (2) Secondary stem fixation (3) Two-year stem fixation of weak seedlings (4) Near-ground bud smearing.
After planting, some weak seedlings with insufficient stem height should also be cut off when the buds are full, and the stem should be fixed in the second year after the top branches grow for one year, and it is not allowed to be cut off. After drying, the buds germinate under the plastic belt. Except a few of them are too close to the ground and can be erased below 30 cm, the slightly higher parts above 30 cm can be temporarily retained to facilitate the growth of seedlings and hair roots.
