What are the detailed steps for getting a dental crown?

Porcelain teeth are medically called "tooth crown restoration". Simply put, the entire tooth is ground down, and then a white porcelain crown is put on it. Detailed steps for repairing dental crowns:

1. Teeth grinding

In order to ensure that the thickness of the completed porcelain crown does not exceed the original thickness of the outer teeth after being worn, it is generally necessary to make porcelain teeth. Remove some of your natural teeth. In addition, in order to make the dentures sit smoothly and achieve good retention, the abutment teeth must be prepared into a certain shape. The quality of the abutment preparation is related to whether the dentures are easy to put in and how strong they are.

2. Take the mold

First take the rough impression: use silicone bold to take the rough impression, and trim the undercut part to create the overflow channel. Then take a fine impression: Use a silicone body to take a fine impression. It is required to reset without pressure and the fine printing color should be uniform. In addition, jaw records must be made: the method is to use wax or silicone to allow the production factory to grasp the dynamic jaw relationship.

3. Color comparison

In order to ensure that the color of the porcelain teeth is similar to that of the original teeth or adjacent teeth, the doctor must quickly browse the color guide and compare it with the original tooth color of the affected tooth. Compare and determine the approximate hue range on the color guide. Requirements: Under natural light, select the color of the upper 1/3 area of ??the crown of the natural tooth, and use this area color as the main base color. Then compare the neck and incisal color with the main color to determine the color of these two areas.

Because the color of the neck, middle part, and incisal end of the tooth is not consistent, the incisal end has the highest brightness, and the cervical part has the highest chroma. If possible, a series of digital color comparison photos are taken, and the photos are sent to the technician in the form of a USB flash drive.

4. Trial bonding

The porcelain teeth will be completed in about 1 week. First, after a trial fit, check the tightness of the shoulder, that is, the fit of the crown edge must meet the standards, whether the color is consistent, whether the shape is beautiful, as well as the adjacency relationship, occlusion relationship, etc. If it is confirmed that there are no problems, the doctor will use a special adhesive to bond it to the pre-repaired tooth, and the repair work of the porcelain tooth will be completed.
