Preoperative Precautions
1. Carefully check the patient’s eye condition before surgery. If there are acute or chronic inflammations of the eyes, such as conjunctivitis, keratitis, stye, etc., it will not be considered temporarily. Surgery should be performed, but surgery should be performed only after the inflammation is controlled.
2. The method of surgery should be decided based on the thickness of the eyelids and the presence or absence of epicanthal folds.
3. Start instilling antibiotic eye drops 3 days before surgery, 4 times a day.
Postoperative precautions
1. Generally, exposure can occur after 3 days. Antibiotic eye drops should be applied every day and eye ointment should be applied on the wound. If you find anything inappropriate, you should seek a doctor for review in time.
2. Those who have their eyes bandaged after surgery should strengthen daily care and observation. If there is any discomfort, the cause should be found and the dressing should not be loosened at will.
3. Avoid continued bleeding from the tissue suture surface. You can apply pressure bandage with an elastic bandage, do not lower your head excessively, and do not force your eyes to open or close.
4. After the eyelid tissue is traumatized by surgery, reactive edema will appear between cells. This is a normal phenomenon and there is no need to worry. Applying pressure bandage and cold compress can help reduce the above phenomenon. However, if the swelling is severe and continues to develop, you should seek timely review by a doctor.
