I. Temperature and lighting
Poinsettia, a flower, is not cold-tolerant! The optimum growth temperature is between 18 and 28 degrees. If the temperature is too low, the old leaves at the bottom will turn yellow and fall off. Above 28 degrees, the so-called flower on the top becomes a green leaf, but the high temperature does not affect its normal growth. At ordinary times, when we maintain at home, we can put it on Nanyang Taiwan for maintenance in winter, spring and autumn. When the weather is hot in summer, it can only be placed on the east balcony or the north balcony for maintenance. This flower is particularly afraid of the sun! In the hot summer, 1 hour flowers are scrapped.
Second, soil and fertilization
When we choose a flowerpot to plant this flower, we must know what kind of flower this flower belongs to, and then "suit the remedy to the case" and prepare its favorite soil for planting. Poinsettias sold in flower shops or flower markets are basically produced in batches with peat soil or peat soil rich in organic matter. The PH value of this kind of soil is acidic, which is good or bad. The disadvantage is that it is expensive! Moreover, there is little retail land in the market, and the production base is generally sold as a whole. Although this kind of soil is also produced in China, many gardening companies are still used to buying "Pinshi peat soil" originating in Denmark. The main reason is that the imported soil has been sterilized. If we grow flowers at home and want to raise them with soil, LAM Raymond suggested that we mix and stir 3 parts of river sand +4 parts of organic fertilizer +3 parts of pine needle soil to raise them. In short, if you want to raise this flower well, the key points of soil collocation must be: loose and breathable, good water seepage effect, and the nature must be slightly acidic! How affordable, how come! As long as the organic fertilizer is used before changing the flowerpot in the early stage, it only needs to be used once every 20 days in the later stage, and the pot soil can be watered with water from the nutrient solution containing phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. After half a year, the fertilizer efficiency drops, so bury the organic fertilizer in the flowerpot!
Third, watering and pest control.
Poinsettia is a typical "sour flower". Many flower lovers don't know this. After buying flowers home, 80% people will unconsciously choose "tap water" for watering. Tap water is naturally alkaline, so when going down, more than half of the old leaves at the bottom will turn yellow and fall off. The best way is to keep acidic substances such as ferrous sulfate, orange peel and lemon slices at home, and soak the flowers in advance before watering them. When watering the flowers, slowly pour around the flowerpot. Here, LAM Raymond would like to remind everyone of one thing! After watering, be sure to move the flowers to the balcony and have a bright and ventilated environment for photosynthesis for a day. Many people must ask, what will happen if I put it indoors after watering? What LAM Raymond is trying to say is that once or twice is not important. After a long time, you will find that the flowers on its head are not red, and the old leaves under it are constantly brushing! And on the back of the blade, there will be something like "white flour"! Many people don't know, what is it? LAM Raymond will tell you today that this is a poinsettia flower, the most common pest. Its name is powdery mildew. Generally speaking, poinsettia with this disease will have two phenomena: a large number of new and old leaves fall off, and the growing point turns black and dies. If we encounter this situation in the process of growing flowers, it is not too serious. When the leaves are normal, water is mixed with chlorothalonil every 7 days, and the back of the leaves is sprayed with a watering can. It doesn't matter if the leaves fall off badly. Just put the flowers on the balcony to bask in the sun, and the leaves will still come out.
Fourth, pruning and seedling raising
The flowering period of poinsettia is usually from August to April of the following year. Its best cutting seedling period is from April to June every year, during this period. The specific operation method is: for example, if the selected branch length is 60 cm, remove the top 20 cm and keep the remaining 40 cm. Then cut it into four sections, each section has two leaves on it, and the bottom is trimmed into an "oblique angle". Because cutting is easier to survive, we only use "Guoguang" brand ordinary rooting agent in the choice of rooting agent. Soak the cuttings with downward oblique mouth in mixed rooting water, take them out after 4 hours, find a container with a depth of 15 cm, fill the dry river sand with downward oblique mouth, and insert them into the river sand, leaving only cuttings with a surface of 2 cm in the air. At this time, one-third of the original two leaves were cut off. After everything is ready, put the cut poinsettia indoors, in a cool, ventilated and bright environment, and spray water for maintenance. Remember not to soak the water thoroughly after cutting! As long as you see the white sand surface in normal maintenance, you can spray water in time. Usually about 30 days, the cuttings will survive.
Why? The flowers we raise are always not as beautiful as those in other flower shops. The main reason is that we didn't trim and reshape at the beginning of flowering. Primrose is the best flower for pruning and shaping 30 days before flowering in August. The method of pruning is also very simple. As long as you prune it round, there is no complicated skill. If you want it to bloom low, just prune it hard. Don't be afraid of pruning to death. It germinates about 10 day after pruning. When the terminal bud grows to 5 cm high, we will spray the leaves with water mixed with chlormequat chloride and potassium dihydrogen phosphate every 7 days until it blooms! The poinsettia managed in this way has a particularly good viewing effect!
Summary: Many people on the Internet say poinsettia is poisonous! No, LAM Raymond wants to ask, do we have to taste every potted flower before planting it? After the poinsettia shoots are broken, the white juice flowing out will be fine as long as it is not put into the mouth. In fact, there is one thing that many people don't know. Poinsettia is still a medicinal material for blindly treating traumatic injuries. As a flower lover, the purpose of planting flowers is to beautify the environment and cultivate sentiment. As long as you are happy and healthy. In fact, all flowers can be raised!
