If one of the husband and wife performs military service, goes abroad to settle down or dies or disappears, and the other spouse does live with the spouse's parents, and the spouse's parents' household registration is registered as a legally fixed residence in the town, they can take refuge in the spouse's parents to settle down.

Persons who have no legal fixed residence in Qingdao and have a stable employment or residence in the urban area (renting a house and handling the lease contract filing and residence registration) may apply for their close relatives to settle in the urban area, the unit collective household, the community collective household where the unit is located or the urban community collective household with a stable residence in turn.
