Opening forming of aluminum material
Rim, commonly known as wheel hub, is an intermediate part for fixing tires and connecting tires and axles.

After continuous improvement, under the condition of modern industrial technology, the hub has become a complete component with perfect functions. It bears the functions of bearing the vehicle weight, transmitting power and supporting tires, and the hub, as a rotating moving part, must meet the technical conditions of light weight, fatigue resistance and dynamic balance on the premise of certain rigidity. Compared with steel wheels in the past, aluminum alloy wheels are much lighter in weight: under the same size and strength, the weight of aluminum alloy wheels is about half that of steel wheels. Lightweight aluminum alloy wheels can make the vehicle have better dynamic performance, and at the same time make the vehicle fuel-efficient and heat-dissipating.

China's rim specifications and codes are basically in line with international standards. Its nominal width and nominal diameter are expressed in inches. The middle connecting symbol (* or-) indicates whether the rim is integral or not.

The rims of China are produced according to the national standard GB/T3487-2005.

For example, 4.50E* 16 represents an integral rim with a nominal width of 4.5 inches and a rim code of E. ..

6.5-20 indicates a multi-piece flat-bottomed wide rim with a nominal width of 6.5 inches and a nominal diameter of 20 inches.

When in use, the specifications of automobile rims are very important. It determines what kind of tires can be used in cars.

Tire/rim specification: international standard tire code, which indicates the percentage of section height and flatness ratio in millimeters, followed by: tire model code, rim diameter (inches), load index (allowable bearing mass code) and allowable speed code. For example, in 175/70R 14 77H, 175 indicates that the nominal width of the tire is 175mm, and 70 indicates that the flat rate of the tire section is 70%, that is, the section height is 70% of the width, and the rim diameter is 14 inch.

According to the manufacturing process, it can be divided into cast rims and forged rims.

The process of folding and editing this paragraph

Folding cast rim

There are two production processes for aluminum alloy wheels, one is casting and the other is forging. The following is the manufacturing process of casting wheel hub.

Gravity manufacturing process: the factory will turn the aluminum ingot into molten aluminum, cast it in the hub model, and punch it from top to bottom every 3 minutes. This process is suitable for mass production of automobile manufacturers.

Fork press manufacturing process (low pressure): the factory turns aluminum ingots into liquid aluminum, which is directly extruded into a hub model through a conveying pipe and pressed up and down for 30 minutes at a time. All the wheels bought by auto parts stores are of this technology.

Forged hub

1, adopting cylindrical design, the larger the diameter of the hub, the thicker the aluminum used for forging, which is more and more different from the manufacturing method of casting aluminum ring hub with "raw materials".

2. Cut aluminum according to the number of J required for the width of aluminum hub.

3. First heat the aluminum ingot to about 400 degrees Celsius, and then you can prepare for forging.

4, hot forging, the higher the tonnage, the lower the working temperature of the aluminum ingot, the smaller the grain size of the forged product, and the higher the toughness.

5. The blank formed by high temperature and high pressure is very hot, and its surface is covered with black carbide, so it must be transported by forklift. And the blank after pickling has already had the prototype of the wheel hub.

6. After long-term reprocessing heat treatment by T4 and T6 heat treatment machines, the grains of the rough blank will be denser and the toughness of the product will be improved.

7. Forging aluminum wheel hub must rely on mechanical processing, from blank to wheel hub forming, so the work content includes tire lip forming, screw hole drilling, turning, detail processing and so on.

8. Before painting, the wheel hub surface must be inspected for defects.

Simply put, forging wheel hub has the following advantages: 1. High strength, 2. Light weight, 3. Save fuel compared with casting wheel hub.
