The Tenth People's Hospital of Shanghai (and the Tenth People's Hospital affiliated to Tongji University) was founded in 19 10, and 1993 became the first batch of "Grade III A" general hospitals of the Ministry of Health. In 2004, the whole hospital was handed over to the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, and territorial management was implemented.

20 19 August, a 3 100 square meter modern clinical teaching center was put into use, which integrates basic skills training, clinical OSCE examination station, lectures and seminars, and AR/VR virtual technology. In July, 2020, the 36,708-square-meter clinical medical science and technology park, which integrates clinic, foundation and transformation, was officially unveiled and put into use.
