How to prune and cross tomatoes?
The methods of pruning bifurcation of tomato include single-pole pruning, double-pole pruning and one-and-a-half-pole pruning.

1, single-knife trimming

Keep one trunk of each tomato and cut off all other side branches. This pruning method will reduce the number of fruit per plant, but the weight of single fruit will increase, enhance the early maturity of tomato, and have high early yield.

2. Double-knife pruning

Keep the main branch and the first lateral branch of tomato growing under the first inflorescence, and remove all other lateral branches to promote the simultaneous growth of the main branch and the reserved lateral branch. This pruning method can increase the yield per plant and is suitable for vigorous varieties.

3. Trim once and a half

When one and a half stems are used, not only the main branch of tomato is retained, but also the first lateral branch below the first inflorescence and the first ear produced by the lateral branch are retained. After leaving two leaves on the ear, remove the core and all other side branches.

The reason why tomatoes are not red

1, nutritional deficiency

The red color of tomatoes is mainly caused by insufficient nutrition. Plants need a lot of nutrients during their growth. If too little fertilizer is applied, the roots will be slender and the peel will be difficult to color. Therefore, when cultivating tomatoes, compound fertilizer or fertilizer containing more trace elements should be applied once every 1 month.

2. Insufficient light

Tomatoes like to grow in a sunny environment. In the breeding period, we must provide them with sufficient light, choose sunny fields for planting, and see the light for more than 6 hours every day, which is conducive to the more vivid color of tomato skin.

3. Soil drought

If tomatoes are not watered for a long time, the roots of the plants will be too dry, resulting in thin fruit growth and non-redness. During the cultivation of tomatoes, they need to be watered every 3-5 days, but shed should be set up in rainy season to avoid fruit rot.
