1. The applicant shall obtain 1 copy of the Approval Form for China Citizens Going Abroad for Private Purposes from the Exit-Entry Administration Office of the Public Security Bureau with the resident ID card or household registration book;
2. The applicant himself applies to the Exit-Entry Administration Office of the Public Security Bureau;
3. Submit two 2-inch recent straight-edge bareheaded color busts;
4. Submit a copy of the household registration book and resident ID card;
5. If an individual travels abroad, he/she must submit proof of the expenses required for the travel;
6. Copies of all application materials submitted shall be in B5 paper size.

China citizens shall apply for passports or other travel documents when leaving or entering the country.
China citizens who want to go to other countries or regions also need to obtain visas or other entry permits. However, unless the China government has signed visa exemption agreements with other governments or the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provide otherwise.
China citizens who leave or enter the country as seafarers and work on foreign ships shall apply for a seaman's certificate according to law.
What documents do I need to submit when I leave the country?
1. Foreigners must submit their valid passports, certificates and exit registration cards to the frontier inspection station when leaving the country, and leave the country within the time limit stipulated in the valid entry visa;
2. When China people leave the country, they must submit valid passport documents, exit country visas, exit registration cards and certificates issued by relevant departments to the frontier inspection station, and prepare to accept vaccination certificates in designated hospitals.
