Changsha is located in the middle of China, at the lower reaches of Xiangjiang River, on the western edge of Changliu Basin, north of Xiangdong, east of Yichun and Pingxiang in Jiangxi, south of Zhuzhou and Xiangtan, west of Loudi and Yiyang, and north of Yueyang and Yiyang.
