Dongzhi county People's Hospital was founded on 1950. After more than 50 years of construction and development, it has become a comprehensive hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, rehabilitation and health care. 1995 was rated as a national second-class first-class hospital, and 1996 was rated as a "baby-friendly hospital" by UNICEF and WHO. It has successively won the titles of "advanced collective" of national health system, provincial civilized hospital and Chizhou civilized unit, and is the leader of the county's three-level medical and health service network and the guidance center for medical treatment, teaching and scientific research. On August 20 12, dongzhi county People's Hospital was rated as "National People's Assured Demonstration Hospital" by China Hospital Association, becoming the first hospital in Chizhou to receive this honor. The hospital director was awarded the title of excellent manager of the National People's Assured Demonstration Hospital.
