When is the maximum capacity of bamboo growth during fertilization?
Bamboo should be in the stage of rapid growth and development, that is, fertilization is the easiest to grow tall in July and August. The specific method is as follows:

(1) Suitable for shallow pots: Bamboo likes acidic, weakly acidic or neutral soil. 0.2% liquid ferric sulfate can be added to the strong alkaline soil in the north. The soil in the basin is loose sandy loam with good drainage. When transplanting potted bamboos, they should be placed in ordinary clay pots, and then transplanted into shallow pots after 30-40 days of cultivation. There should not be too much soil in the pot, and their roots will grow too fast, so it is difficult to control the height of bamboo.

(2) Keep new bamboo shoots: Generally, bamboo shoots in pots are from April to September, and July to August is the early flowering period. At this time, there are many bamboo shoots, the internodes are short and thick, and the finished bamboo products are of good quality, so we should try our best to select and preserve them.

(3) Timely water control: Bamboo likes humidity and is afraid of water accumulation. After pouring the basin, it should be watered for the first time, and then the basin soil should be kept moist and "dried and watered thoroughly". In the new bamboo shoots unearthed and vigorous growth period, properly control watering, keep the basin soil dry, get more sunshine, and control the top growth to make it short and strong. Watering should be done before 9: 00 a.m. and after 4: 00 p.m. In hot summer, water should be sprayed on the leaves 2 ~ 3 times a day to avoid burning the tips of the leaves, and rain and watering should be avoided in rainy days to prevent root rot.

(4) Less topdressing: Bamboo likes fertilizer, and organic fertilizer should be the main fertilizer, such as compost, ring fertilizer and green manure. However, in order to minimize topdressing of potted bamboo, only thin fertilizer should be used, and 0.5% urea and 1% compound fertilizer should be applied in spring and summer. In order to promote the growth of potted bamboo, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should be applied appropriately in the later stage of growth.

(5) Proper peeling: After 7 ~ 10 days, when the new bamboo shoots are about 10 cm high, according to the growth situation, peel 1 ~ 2 bamboo shoots from bottom to top every1day to make them mature in advance, inhibit growth and promote their dwarfing.

(6) Reasonable shape: potted bamboos should be short and concentrated, and the number of bamboo shoots is often singular. Three, five or seven bamboo shoots should be planted in each pot, and those bamboo shoots with inappropriate node length and position, too dense and weak growth should be cut off in time. When the preserved bamboo shoots reach the ideal height required for composition, the top should be removed to promote the appearance of lateral branches, and when the lateral branches reach a certain height, the top should also be removed.
