Cultivation methods and skills of avalokitesvara
Guanyin is an advanced indoor foliage plant with thick roots, unique style, drought resistance and strong vitality, which can be used for landscaping or potted plants. Come with me now to learn the cultivation methods and precautions of avalokitesvara, hoping to help you.

Practice method of avalokitesvara with thousand hands

1. Soil: Guanyin can be cultivated in nutrient soil mixed with humus soil, peat soil, river sand and a small amount of cake-soaked fertilizer.

2. Planting: Generally, when the temperature is high in spring and summer every year, the underground tubers with dense tillers are divided along the tubers, so that there are 2-3 plants in each part, and then planted in pots respectively. When dividing plants, the roots should be damaged as little as possible, and at the same time, the pot should be placed in a humid environment, and the soil in the pot should be kept moist frequently, and foliar spraying should be paid attention to, so as to facilitate the new plants to resume growth.

3. Watering: Guanyin Bodhisattva especially likes humidity. In the growing season, not only the soil in the basin is required to be moist, but also the air humidity is required to be no less than 60%. When it is hot in summer, it is necessary to strengthen water spraying to create a relatively cool and humid environment. If placed in an indoor air-conditioned hall, make sure that the soil in the basin is moist and spray water on the leaves from time to time. If the room temperature can't reach 15 degrees in winter, water should be controlled, otherwise it will easily lead to root rot.

4. Lighting: Avalokitesvara is a shade-tolerant plant and likes semi-shade environment. It should be placed in a cool and ventilated environment. Should not be exposed to the sun, so as not to burn plants in large areas.

5. Temperature: The growth temperature of Guanyin is 20-30℃, and the lowest temperature is 8℃. As long as the soil is moist in summer, sprayed with water frequently and shaded, and the room temperature is not lower than 5℃ in winter, it can still grow normally.

6. Fertilization: Guanyin Bodhisattva likes fertilizer. From March to June, topdressing should be applied every half month 1 time, in which the proportion of nitrogen can be appropriately increased. If a little ferrous sulfate can be added, the leaves will grow as big as lotus leaves, smooth and pleasant, and long-term lack of fertilizer will easily cause the leaves of plants to droop, which will affect the ornamental value. Fertilization should be stopped when the temperature is lower than 15 degrees.

7. Change pots: Generally, change pots 1 time every spring, and loosen the soil 1 time every month, so as to keep the pot soil in a good permeable state.

8. Plastic surgery: If you want Guanyin to be small and exquisite indoors, just wait until its seedlings are one foot long and suitable for home placement, immediately spray the whole plant with 2% paclobutrazol solution, and then the stems and leaves will grow no more than 40 cm high, with thick leaves and high ornamental value. Spraying medicine once every six months or so can play a good role in controlling height.

9. Disease prevention: one is leaf spot and the other is anthracnose. Leaf spot can be sprayed with 800 times of chlorothalonil or carbendazim continuously for 2-3 times, once every 7 days. Anthracnose should be sprayed on the leaves with 500 times solution of 75% thiophanate-methyl.

Matters needing attention in cultivating Guanyin with thousands of hands

Fertilization:

(1) avalokitesvara likes fertilizer. From March to June, applying 1 liquid fertilizer every half month can appropriately increase the proportion of nitrogen. It is best to add a little ferrous sulfate, so that the leaves will grow as big as lotus leaves, bright and beautiful. Fertilization should be stopped when the temperature is lower than 15 degrees Celsius.

(2) Generally, the cultivated Guanyin is applied 1 ~ 2 times a month, with nitrogen fertilizer as the main fertilizer and dilute liquid fertilizer of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. Avalokitesvara should sleep in winter, water less and stop fertilization.

Water supply point:

(1) When it is hot in summer, water spraying should be strengthened to create a relatively cool and humid environment. If you put it in an indoor air-conditioned hall, you should ensure that the soil in the basin is moist and spray water on the leaves from time to time.

(2) If the room temperature does not reach 15 degrees in winter, water should be controlled, otherwise it will easily lead to root rot. Generally, warm water 1 time per week can keep the leaves dark green.

Pruning essentials: If you want to cultivate Guanyin Bodhisattva indoors, you only need to spray the whole plant with 2% paclobutrazol solution when the seedlings of Guanyin Bodhisattva grow to about one foot and are suitable for home display. After that, the stems and leaves of Guanyin were all 40cm high, with thick leaves and high ornamental value. Spraying once every six months can play a good role in height control.

Changing pots: Generally, Guanyin with a thousand hands changes pots 1 time every spring, and the time can be arranged in early spring or late autumn. Loosen the soil 1 time every month to keep the basin soil in a good permeable state.

Breeding point:

Commonly used ramet propagation. Generally, when the temperature is high in spring and summer every year, the plants with dense tillers in underground tubers are divided along the tuber partition, so that there are 2-3 plants in each part, and then planted in pots respectively. When dividing plants, the roots should be damaged as little as possible, and at the same time, the pot should be placed in a humid environment, and the soil in the pot should be kept moist frequently, and foliar spraying should be paid attention to, so as to facilitate the new plants to resume growth. You can also dig out the underground tubers before the new buds grow in spring, cut them into sections and separate them, disinfect the wounds with plant ash or sulfur powder, wrap them with water moss after drying slightly, or put them in ventilated and drained loose soil to make them grow adventitious roots and new buds. The substrate here should not be too wet to avoid tuber rot. This plant can also be propagated by sowing, but seeds are not easy to get.

Pest control:

1, leaf spot. Leaf spot can be sprayed with 800 times of chlorothalonil or carbendazim continuously for 2 ~ 3 times, once every 7 days.

2. Anthrax. Anthracnose should be sprayed with 75% thiophanate-methyl 500 times solution once every 7 days for 2 ~ 3 times in a row, which is basically controllable.

3. Fusarium wilt. You can cut off the diseased part with a knife. The boundary between the diseased part and the non-diseased part is very obvious, which can generally be broken off by hand. If the affected area is less than one third of the stem, you can apply a layer of chlorothalonil solution to the unaffected area, keep it dry, and apply it again every ten days. You can basically recover after 20 days.

4. Starscream. Starscream is usually born on the back of leaves. It not only absorbs nutrients from leaves, but also spreads various viruses, which seriously affects the growth of plants. So be sure to check it often and treat it as soon as you find it. Mi Hu Qing, Sao Mi Hu Jing and Imidacloprid can be used for treatment.
