3. Classification and application of sectional skin graft and advantages and disadvantages of various skin grafts in cosmetic plastic surgery.
(1) Thick-edged skin graft: also known as superficial skin graft, with an average thickness of about 0.3mm, containing superficial skin and a small amount of dermal papilla. Its characteristics are: less dermis, thin skin graft, easy survival, strong anti-infection, easy cutting, unlimited donor site and fast healing. Disadvantages: poor elasticity, easy contracture, no wear resistance, dark color and poor appearance.

(2) Medium-thick skin graft: The average thickness is 0.3 ~ 0.6 mm, which can be divided into thin-medium-thick skin graft and thick-medium-thick skin graft according to the thickness of dermis. The former contains dermis with a thickness of about 1/3; The latter can reach 3/4 of the thickness of dermis. The advantages of medium-thick skin graft are that it contains more elastic fibers, low shrinkage, pressure and wear resistance, strong anti-infection ability and good appearance and texture. The donor site can also heal itself through the growth of hair follicles, sebaceous glands and sweat glands. The disadvantage of thick and medium-thick skin graft is that it is easy to contracture, not as much as medium-thick skin graft.
