The whole building is calm and dignified, taking the meaning of tripod and surpassing the simple shape. It not only makes people feel the profoundness of a famous historical and cultural city with a long history, but also has the unique image and brand-new charm of contemporary architecture, which will become an important achievement of Zhengzhou's landmark buildings. The exhibition hall in the museum is equipped with modern computer network system, touch screen participation system, digital audio navigation system and multifunctional cultural relics demonstration lecture hall. This makes the new museum have perfect functions such as exhibition, collection and preservation, scientific research, social education, cultural leisure, foreign affairs reception, information exchange, and landmark cultural buildings.
The exhibition hall of Zhengzhou Museum has a total area of 4,720 square meters, and the original basic exhibition area is about 2,000 square meters. It consists of eight exhibition halls in three parts:
1. "Dawn of Zhengzhou Civilization" includes two exhibitions, Paleolithic and Neolithic, which mainly show the long historical stage from late Cenozoic to Neolithic, the life activities of ancient Zhengzhou and the germination of human civilization. Through the exhibition, it is clarified that Zhengzhou ancient culture occupies an important position in the history of Chinese civilization;
2. The part of "Charm of Zhengzhou Ancient Capital" includes three exhibitions, namely Yangcheng in summer, Shangdu in Zhengzhou and Zhenghan Ancient City. This part is the main exhibition of Zhengzhou Museum, which reflects the most glorious stage in Zhengzhou's ancient history, and shows the old appearance of Zhengzhou's ancient capital through a large number of exquisite cultural relics, auxiliary layouts and sand tables.
Third, the part of "the charm of ancient culture" includes ancient ceramic art exhibition, ancient stone carving art exhibition and ancient painting and calligraphy art exhibition. Through the display of exquisite cultural relics such as ceramics, stone carvings, calligraphy and painting, this part reflects the glory of Zhengzhou's ancient history and culture, and eulogizes the creative spirit of ancient ancestors.
Zhengzhou Museum has a rich collection of about 30,000 pieces, with more than 30,000 pieces of third-class 10000. The main collections include bronzes, pottery, statues, inscriptions, coins, portrait bricks, mussels, gold, silver and jade articles, ironware, paintings, calligraphy and revolutionary cultural relics. There are a large number of cultural relics in the collection from primitive society to Tang and Song Dynasties. The representative Shang and Zhou bronzes and Tang and Song stone carvings enjoy a high reputation in academic circles at home and abroad.
