Sun Yat-sen University Zhongshan School of Medicine is located in Guangzhou, Guangdong. It is a second-level college affiliated with Sun Yat-sen University. It is one of the first batch of university medical schools established by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health.

The predecessors of Zhongshan Medical College of Sun Yat-sen University were Boji Medical College founded in 1866, Guangdong Guanghua Medical College founded in the spring of 1908, and Guangdong Public Medical College founded in the spring of 1909; in 1953 and 1954 , three schools merged to form South China Medical College; in 1956, it was renamed Guangzhou Medical College; in 1957, it was renamed Sun Yat-sen Medical College; in 1985, it was renamed Sun Yat-sen Medical University; in October 2001, the former Sun Yat-sen University and Sun Yat-sen Medical University merged into New Sun Yat-sen University, and established Zhongshan Medical College of Sun Yat-sen University.
