(1) acute periodontal abscess
1.
Therapeutic goal
Eliminate acute symptoms and signs as soon as possible.
2.
Treatment consideration
(1) Removal of plaque stones, debridement and drainage in periodontal pocket or abscess incision and drainage.
(2) Appropriate occlusal adjustment and antibiotic application can be considered.
(3) After the acute symptoms are controlled, comprehensive periodontal assessment and systematic periodontal treatment should be carried out.
(4) Before the abscess is immature, it is feasible to clean it, put it in a bag, and apply medicine, supplemented by systemic medication if necessary.
(II) Gum abscess
1. Remove related local stimuli. For example, remove the food residue of the impaction, remove the protrusion of the filling body, and remove foreign bodies such as fishbone.
2. Eliminate acute inflammation and relieve pain. After removing local irritants, apply antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs, such as 3% hydrogen peroxide solution or 0. 12% chlorhexidine solution, and apply compound iodine solution to gingival papilla.
3. Treat according to the cause. After the acute inflammation of gingivitis is controlled, it is necessary not only to treat the original gingivitis, but also to completely remove the causes, such as removing the pathogenic factors that lead to impaction, trimming the edge of bad restorations, and treating adjacent dental caries.
