1, pit cleaning
Clean up the gravel and waste residue in and around the pit to be repaired. There shall be no mud, ice and other sundries in the pit. After repair, the pits and grooves should be trimmed and cleaned up, and the waste residue should be removed until a solid surface is seen.
2, brush interface sealant
Brush the interface agent evenly around the cleaned pit and bottom, especially around the pit and the corner of the pit groove.
Step 3 Fill the pits and grooves
After opening the bag, fill enough asphalt cold patching material in the pit until the filler is about 1.5cm higher than the road surface. After filling, the center of the pit and groove should be slightly higher than the surrounding road surface and arc-shaped. When the depth of the pavement pit and groove is greater than 5cm, it should be compacted by layers, with each layer being 3-5cm.
Step 4 compact
After laying evenly, according to the site environment, the size and depth of the repair area, choose the appropriate compaction tools and methods for compaction. Such as human rammer, vibrating plate rammer, roller, etc. When repairing a highway with high grade and large traffic volume, the edges and corners of the repaired area should be fully compacted, and there should be no virtual paving, otherwise looseness and water seepage will easily occur due to insufficient compaction.
Step 5 open to traffic
It can be directly opened to traffic after compaction.
During the construction of asphalt cold patching materials, the materials must be fully compacted and traffic shall not be closed. No matter how big the construction area is, it will be opened to traffic as soon as it is completed. It is still recommended to use interface edge sealer, which can improve the adhesion between old and new pavements and enhance the waterproof and water-resistant function of pavement joints.
