The steps of mink peeling are as follows:
(1) Cut the paw of the forelimb.
Use bone scissors or a small chainsaw with a diameter of 10 cm to remove the claws of the forelimbs.
(2) Pick the crotch
Cut the knife from the paw of one hind limb of the mink with a pick knife, pick it forward along the dividing line between long hair and short hair on the inner side of the hind limb, cross 2.5 cm from the front of the anus, and pick it directly to the paw of the other hind limb, that is, complete the crotch pick.
Pay attention to strictly follow the dividing line of long and short wool, otherwise it will affect the length and beauty of the skin graft (Figure 7).

(3) Pick your tail
Starting from the posterior edge of tail root anus, pick it up along the midline of abdomen and tail to the tip of tail. Leave a small piece of triangular fur with anus. Note that the knife should be close to the skin to avoid breaking the anal gland.
(4) Peeling
After picking the crotch, wash the dirty blood off the picked part with sawdust, then first insert your finger between the skin and the meat of a hind leg, separate the skin of the hind leg to a place close to the metacarpal bone, hook the hind leg with the hook on the peeling table, continue to pull the skin of the hind leg with your left hand, and cut the joint between the skin and the meat with scissors with your right hand. When the last phalanx is exposed, cut it open with scissors to make the skin complete and claw-shaped. After peeling off the skin of both hind legs, pull out the coccyx and peel it from the hip to the head. When peeling a male mink, cut the foreskin to the penis first, so as not to tear the skin plate at the genitals when peeling. When stripping the forelimb, pull out the bones and muscles of the forelimb with both hands. When scalping, the left hand holds the mink tightly, and the right hand peels off the connected subcutaneous tissue at the root of the ear and the orbital floor with a peeling knife to keep the ears, eyes and nose intact.
Large mink farms with conditions can be peeled with mink peeler. Fix the hindquarters of the mink carcass with the crotch removed, the hindquarters stripped and the forelegs claw removed on the peeling machine, and lift the mink carcass upward through the pedal control device, and peel the mink downward. Two 1 peelers can peel 120 minks per hour. The peeler is driven by a hydraulic motor of about 245 watts.
