South Korea Study Visa

1. Visa application instructions

Chinese citizens going to South Korea need to apply for a visa at the consular section of the Korean Embassy in China or the Consulate General in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Qingdao, Guangzhou, Shenyang, Chengdu, Xi'an, and Wuhan according to the Korean consular district (some of them are exempt from the above requirements) Except for those with visa entry permit conditions).

Visa types include tourist visas, work visas, business visas, and family visit visas. The visa application procedures and required materials vary depending on the consulate in the region, the type of passport and visa, and the agency.

If you stay in South Korea for more than 90 days, you must apply for a visa issuance permit from the Immigration and Entry Administration Office of the Ministry of Justice of South Korea before applying for a visa at the Korean Embassy or Consulate in China. (You can apply for a visa at the Korean Embassy or Consulate in China only after you have obtained the visa issuance permit).

4. South Korea implements a restrictive visa-free entry permit system for some Chinese citizens.

5. Tourists holding mainland Chinese passports can apply for visa-free entry to Jeju Island, South Korea and stay for 30 days.

Transit passengers. Chinese tourists who hold entry visas from any of the United States, Japan, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and 30 European countries (see the attachment for the list) and go to the above countries via South Korea, or when returning from the above countries via South Korea, pass After entry inspection, you can stay in South Korea without a visa for up to 30 days. South Korea stipulates that such visa-free entry personnel must hold a valid overseas ticket within 30 days, and have no illegal stay in the above countries or other illegal activities. Youth study tour group. Chinese elementary school, junior high school, and high school student study tour groups and their leaders who enter South Korea on the same flight or ship are exempt from visas and can stay in South Korea for more than 30 days. However, they need to apply for the lead teacher, the sponsoring group or the designated travel agency staff. 8. Visa applications for official passports must be processed through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.

9. The invitation letter, visa issuance permit and other visa application documents are valid for 3 months.

10. South Korea has designated three channels for visa processing.

11. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the foreign affairs office authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (visa for business trips abroad).

14. The Korean Embassy and Consulates in China do not accept visa application materials submitted by mail.

15. The Korean embassy and consulates only provide expedited issuance of visa applications for participating in international conferences, and require visa applicants to fax specific matters to the embassy and consulates.

16. Applicants for international marriage visas need to make an appointment in advance, while applicants for other types of visas do not need to make an appointment.

2. Visa application process

1. Make clear the purpose of going to South Korea and the itinerary plan.

2. Log in to the official website of the Korean Embassy and Consulate in China, browse relevant visa application information, and download the visa application form and list of materials required for visa application.

3. According to the embassy and consulate divisions announced by South Korea, determine the embassy and consulate where the application should be submitted, and select an agency according to the directory of agencies designated by South Korea to handle the visa application procedures.

4. Waiting for visa review or supplementary materials.

5. Log in to the official website of the Korean Embassy in China to check the visa review results.

Get your visa. After obtaining the visa, the applicant should promptly and carefully check whether all the information on the visa is correct, especially whether the start and end time of the visa validity period and the number of days of stay are consistent with the application, and whether the personal information on the visa, such as the spelling of the name, is correct. If any errors are found, , should contact the visa office in time.

3. Required materials for visa application

1. Tourist visa

1) Passport.

2) Copy of ID card.

3) 1 photo.

4) Visa application form.

5) Proof of financial ability.

6) If you apply for a multiple-entry visa, you must also provide materials that can prove the facts of past entry and exit, such as visits to South Korea more than 4 times or *** more than 5 times in the past two years.

7) If applying for a group visa, only the first three materials are required.

2. Tourist visa (group)

1) Passport or travel document, valid for at least 6 months (excluding the allowed stay in the Philippines).

2) Completed tour group visa application form, and a copy of the passport data page of each member of the tour group (***3 copies; 1 set submitted to the Philippine Immigration Bureau, 1 set to the embassy or consulate) Archived, 1 set kept by travel agency).

3) Letter of guarantee from Philippine travel agency.

3. Business visa

1) Passport.

2) 1 photo.

3) Copy of ID card.

4) Visa application form.

5) Proof of employment.

6) Company dispatch letter.

7) A copy of the company’s business license with company seal.

8) If you apply for a multiple-entry visa, you must also provide materials that can prove the facts of past entry and exit, such as visits to South Korea more than 4 times or *** more than 5 times in the past two years.

4. Study visa

1) Passport.

2) 1 photo.

3) Copy of ID card.

4) Visa application form.

5) Graduation certificate or enrollment certificate from the final institution of graduation.

6) Certificate of tuition payment.

7) Proof of financial ability (can be replaced by property certificate in the name of parents, but proof of kinship relationship must be submitted together).

5. Medical visa

1) Passport.

2) 1 photo.

3) Copy of ID card.

4) Visa application form.

5) Proof of appointment for treatment or recuperation at a domestic medical institution or nursing home in Korea.

6) Certification materials such as hospital diagnosis or doctor’s opinion issued by domestic or foreign medical institutions or nursing institutions that explain the need for treatment or nursing.

7) Documents proving the ability to pay for the expenses required for treatment, recuperation and stay.

6. Family visit visa

1) Passport.

2) 1 photo.

3) Original and copy of ID card.

4) Original and copy of household register.

5) Visa application form.

6) Documents proving kinship.
