Mr. Tianzhu of Liang Tianzhu
Fan Hong [writer, painter, art critic]

Mr. Tianzhu lives in a small attic on Weixian Road. The area of the attic is less than 10 square meter. There is a couch in it, surrounded by the honeycomb stove that island people are most familiar with, and the rest are picture frames covered with four walls. Oh, by the way, Mr. Wang also fed a pair of beautiful love birds, snuggling up to each other and singing constantly, adding a little vitality to the silent attic. From the first floor to the attic, the stairs are narrow and steep It's dangerous to slip accidentally, let alone an old man in his eighties. How can this be convincing? Such a simple room is the residence of Mr. Tianzhu.

Mr. Wang is very happy to have a visitor, and Mrs. Liang is even more curious. Knowing that I studied painting with Mr. Fukuyama, Mr. Fukuyama shouted, "We are good friends, but unfortunately it is not a holiday." We recalled the past and talked about the death of Mr. Fukuyama. Mr. Fukuyama was deeply sorry and thought of his illness and helplessness. The taste of life comes to mind. Maybe it was when you were seriously ill that you realized the preciousness of life. When "Tianzhu Painting Collection" was about to be published, I looked through the samples released in advance and was attracted by the pictures inside. Mr. Wang's paintings have both the charm of Chinese painting and the color concept of western oil painting. The combination of Chinese and western is really refreshing. My husband and I talked about art, the current situation of Chinese painting, the genre of Chinese painting, and the inheritance and innovation of Chinese painting. He took pains to explain and solve my doubts. His understanding of art, novel ideas and wise language made me understand taste and painting and opened my heart. "Western art has been introduced to China for more than one hundred years. Why can't we accept its advantages? "

People come and go outside the window, traffic in front of the door, passers-by in a hurry. The popular saying is hiding in the city. The essence of life is not the satisfaction and dazzling of desire. You can endure loneliness, keep your roots and keep a childlike innocence forever. In a small attic, most of Mr. Tianzhu's works were conceived and completed there. The mysterious gate, a landscape scroll, shows a mysterious and magical picture with strong colors and simple strokes, showing Mr. Wang's unique ingenuity.

Sitting around the fire, chatting with my husband about Zen, unaware of the noise outside the window. Staring at the painter on the wall, I felt the breeze blowing on my face, and everything was silent. If I enter Tathagata, I will forget the cold in the middle of winter. There is also a picture of Mrs. Liang hanging on the wall, which is no different from Mr. Liang's. After all, they are husband and wife who live together day and night. Mr. Wang lives frugally, and his tea and rice are casual. He likes the simple tea and white rice of the country people very much. Dry the leaves of mustard, grind the bean dregs of freshly soaked soybeans and stew them on the stove to make small tofu, which becomes a delicious meal. I once asked him to stay in Jimo, but unfortunately his heart disease didn't allow him to travel long distances to take care of his health. He just needed to rest, that is, give up.

Do you know what it's like to be born without seeing? The last time I saw Mr. Wang was in his daughter's apartment on Guizhou Road. At that time, he was extremely weak and had to run to the oxygen bottle to take a few sips from time to time, but his spirit was still good. Do you know that he is a charitable, kind and generous old man? He told me about his life experience, his art and his feelings, and his arms were waving all the time, so he was very excited.

When the spring rain was falling and the banana was knocked down by the rain, I opened the window and looked at the vast night sky. I silently prayed for an early recovery from his illness, but this expectation was fading day by day.

When I went to see him again, I was told by the child that I was unwell and could not see guests. At this time, his illness has prevented him from seeing more guests. Unexpectedly, this has become a permanent tactic, and I have been unable to meet my husband for several years. Later, news came from the city about Mr. Yun, and he didn't give up. Yesterday, I was shocked to learn that Mr. Zhu had left, which made me feel sad. Alas, a great master-Mr. Tianzhu!

Liang Tianzhu, a famous painter in China

Liang Tianzhu, a special painter of Chinese Painting Research Institute, died of illness in Qingdao in the early morning of June 1 2006 at the age of 86.

Before he died, he also told his relatives: "Don't disturb others about my business." Mr. Liang, with his attachment to the unfinished business, left in such a hurry and so peacefully. However, the "mountains and rivers" he cast with "steel bars and iron bones" remain in China painting forever.

I was shocked to learn that Liang Tianzhu passed away. Liu Boshu, president of Chinese Painting Research Institute, sent a message of condolence on behalf of colleagues in the institute, and fully affirmed the contribution made by Liang Tianzhu, a super painter, to contemporary China painting circles through hard self-study. He was born on the sixth day of the first lunar month in 19 16 in Liang Zhuangzi, Dazeshan Township, pingdu city. There is a famous Tianzhu Mountain nearby, where there are many stone carvings of past dynasties. The most famous one is Zheng Daozhao, the secretariat of Gwangju in the Northern Wei Dynasty, who lived in Yongping for four years (AD 5 1 1). Liangshan Shanxi, who lives at the foot of Tianzhu Mountain, loves painting since childhood and has a special liking for this famous mountain. He became a citizen of Tianzhu Mountain, and then he went on a trip. Liang Tianzhu is also. When he was a teenager in a private school, he became fascinated with painting. The backwardness and occlusion of the countryside can't stop his desire for painting. Every Spring Festival holiday, New Year pictures can be seen everywhere in the countryside. Seeing Guan Gong with a red face, Zhang Fei with a straight eyebrow, the birthday girl with a stick, and the chubby doll in vain really made Liang Tianzhu feast his eyes and was also the happiest day. He often follows painters around the streets and occasionally gets a New Year picture, so he keeps referring to it. Over time, his paintings are just like his paintings, and his works also feature some small red lanterns in the neighborhood for the New Year. People familiar with Liang Tianzhu in Qingdao call him "Dr. Liang" because he comes from a family of doctors and has been a doctor for 40 years. There are seven brothers Liang Tianzhu, and he ranks sixth. When I was young, I went to Guangdong and Dalian, and I worked as an apprentice and a surgical trainee in a hospital. 1940 Liang Tianzhu returned to Qingdao from Dalian and received his doctorate. He cooperated with his twin brother Lian to establish "Da 'an Hospital" in Pingdu Road, Qingdao, and served as the dean. 1957, at the age of 42, he was transferred to Qingdao Shibei District Hospital as an attending surgeon until 1977 retired. Mr. Tianzhu has been practicing medicine all his life, with noble medical ethics and superb medical skills. However, the love of the clock, the passion of the heart, the beauty of life and the pleasure of the body are all in the pen and ink. During the period of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, a group of painters avoided chaos in Qingdao. While practicing medicine, Liang Tianzhu was admitted to Qingdao Amateur Art School, the first art school founded by painter Gong Benting, and studied Chinese painting for three years, which opened the way for his amateur art creation. Later, I got to know Mr. Sun Guofeng, a famous Qingdao painter and art educator, under the introduction of friends, and under the guidance of Mr. Sun, I made a systematic study and research on China landscape painting and flower-and-bird painting. Later, it was found that Liang Tianzhu's landscape painting was a bit like Huang's painting. He borrowed Huang's paintings from friends and studied them again and again. He was inspired by Mr. Huang's earth-shattering landscape paintings and brought him into a new realm. At the same time, I systematically studied the works of ancient masters such as Wang Meng, Kun Can, Shi Tao and Gong Xian, and began to pay attention to pen and ink skills. This makes his love for the art career pure and selfless, and he will devote himself affectionately every time he writes. He has two legends to prove it. The first legend is that Mr. Liang practiced his unique skills on a small prescription. He has been a doctor for 40 years, and whenever no one sees a doctor at night, he has repeatedly composed and painted on prescription notes or laboratory sheets, which has never stopped for decades. I have to draw at least dozens of pictures every day. Later, I fell ill and was hospitalized. I can't sleep in bed. I've been writing, too. I actually drew dozens of sketches. Someone asked him how many prescriptions he had drawn in his life, and he answered seriously, I'm afraid there are tens of thousands. He painted before his death, ranging in size from tens of meters to half a foot. He never typed a manuscript, and he didn't want to draw repeated pictures. He began to paint ink directly with burning ink, which was related to his unique skills in tens of thousands of small squares. The second legend is that Mr. Liang created thousands of ink paintings in an attic shack. I have lived and painted in the small attic of Weixian Road Courtyard 14 square meter in Qingdao for twenty or thirty years. He climbed up through the rickety, narrow wooden stairs, the roof tilted, and people in the shortest place could not stand straight. In this small world, Mr. Liang is both a bedroom, a reception room and a studio. Even if water is often cut off in summer, he has to ask someone to change the gas every other month. He didn't complain or insult. He is full of spirit and devoted himself to art. He gets up at dawn, puts up a big exhibition board in his sleeping place and paints passionately, regardless of the scenery. Thousands of ink paintings recorded Liang Lao's joys and sorrows. Self-taught, Mr. Tianzhu is completely self-taught and married. I don't know whether it was inspired by famous artists or because of his high nature. His favorite painters are Huang, Shi Tao, Wang Meng, who are all masters with profound attainments and lofty ideals. Especially for Huang, I highly praised him. He used to scrimp and save money to search for Huang's original works, in order to carefully study Huang's ink and color techniques, especially Huang's writing and calligraphy skills. For a surgeon who has operated a scalpel for decades, he naturally understands this meaning. Mr. Tianzhu believes that great craftsmen give people rules, but if they want to be square, they must live by themselves and learn from nature. Therefore, every time he meets a holiday, he goes deep into Laoshan Mountain. Some people say that every stone on Laoshan Road knows him. He painted a lot of ochre and khaki, which were ground with stones from Laoshan Mountain. Compared with the bought pigments, it is particularly calm and vigorous, and it is still endowed with the original temperament of the earth. In his early days, his landscape paintings were quite exquisite in Huang Zhi, but he was not satisfied with inheriting the family's strengths, nor did he want to make a living from traditional literati paintings. He was determined to take the road of reform, thus forming a unique landscape style like yellow instead of yellow. 1July, 977, the day after his retirement, Mr. Liang couldn't wait to simply install Jiangnan. He made seven trips to the south of the Yangtze River, visited disciple Huang and traveled all over the world. 1980 In the spring, Mr. Liang, 65, started his long-awaited trip to Dunhuang like a devout pilgrim. Facing the magnificent grotto murals, Mr. Liang burst into tears. His sincerity touched a director surnamed Chang and specially approved a note for this "doctor painter": "It meets all his requirements and deserves a good commentator." So, Liang Tianzhu was overjoyed and looked at a cave and a painting for two days. In the Five Dynasties, Wang Yang in Sui and Tang Dynasties was wanton, and Mr. Liang's heart was torn apart. He made a great wish in the Treasure Cave: "We must integrate the gorgeous colors and flame-like flowing lines of Dunhuang murals into China landscape paintings, and introduce the mystery, sacredness and enthusiasm of religious paintings into landscape paintings." After returning from his trip to Dunhuang, Mr. Liang found the core of art. After a period of exploration, his painting style changed greatly. He applied the rhythm, rhythm and color of Dunhuang art to landscape painting creation, and ink painting merged into one furnace, with lines such as steel bars and bones, forming a magnificent and simple personal style. Here is a quote from Wang Luxiang, a famous art theorist: "Mr. Tianzhu abandoned the trivial painting method since the Song Dynasty, boldly introduced the thick bone lines in the freehand flower-and-bird paintings of Wu Changshuo and Qi Baishi since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, strengthened the proportion of burnt ink and thick ink in the bone lines, and described the rock structure with crazy brushwork. It can be said that in the history of China painting, no one has used such vigorous and rough pen and ink to construct the steel skeleton of landscape painting. With such a' savage' figure, any wild color can be restrained. Then I began to spread stones, bluestones, green cinnabar and even rusty red boards on the floor, but they were not painted dead, but jumped between bone lines. According to the relationship between the feeling and the picture, I left some gaps from time to time intentionally or unintentionally, which greatly improved the problem that the stone color is easy to be stiff, and it was beautiful and moving. I think the influence of Mr. Tianzhu's creative exploration on China's landscape painting is immeasurable. " 65438-0989 Tianjin Yangliuqing Painting Society published "Liang Tianzhu Painting Collection", which aroused strong social repercussions. Liang Tianzhu's paintings such as Never Tired of Seeing Mountains, Eclipse and Mystery in Mystery came out, which shocked the painting circles in China. 199 1 On May 27th, 2008, the Chinese Painting Research Institute hired Mr. Liang Tianzhu as the first special painter of the Institute and held an appointment ceremony. Dean Liu Boshu solemnly delivered the letter of appointment to Liang Tianzhu, and Liang Tianzhu's painting "Mount Tai is high, the soil does not abandon" was collected by the Chinese Painting Research Institute, and the influence of Liang Tianzhu's landscape painting was recognized. Under the prestigious reputation, he remembered the earnest words of Dean Liu Boshu after the inauguration ceremony: "It is enough for you to have this certificate, so you should concentrate on painting." Two and a half years later, on the morning of1993165438+10, nearly 100 painters and art theorists from the capital gathered in China Painting Academy to participate in the "Liang Tianzhu Landscape Painting Exhibition" and "Liang Tianzhu Landscape Painting Theory Seminar" organized by China Painting Academy and China Art Museum. Shao Dazhen, a famous theorist in China and director of the Theoretical Committee of the National Artists Association, said excitedly: "Hanging these works in the British Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the United States, or the Louvre in France can all be called masterpieces of masters." Mr. Zhang Ding, an artist, saw Liang Tianzhu's art exhibition and said with emotion, "Huang Qiuyuan in Jiangxi and Chen Zizhuang in Sichuan are unknown. They painted in obscurity all their lives, and were finally recognized as the masters of China's landscape painting by the society. So is Mr. Liang Tianzhu. He is a doctor, doing surgery, but his favorite is painting. I am very excited to see his works on display today. Mr. Liang is very devoted to painting, devoted to landscape painting all his life and willing to be lonely. Liang Tianzhu is another major discovery of contemporary China landscape painting after Huang Qiuyuan and Chen Zhizhuang. Liu Boshu, president of the Chinese Painting Research Institute, praised: "Mr. Liang's paintings have everyone's temperament and ever-changing composition. Even small paintings are large in space, large in capacity and durable. Mr. Crane said that a painting can be hung on the wall for three days and it is considered a success. Mr. Liang's painting will last for three days. " The next day, Mr. Liang, who was on his deathbed, learned that his art exhibition had caused a sensation in Beijing and sat still for a long time. He tried to control his emotions with silence, but tears slowly flowed over his face. In his later years, Mr. Liang Tianzhu's paintings were old and bold, indifferent to fame and fortune. In life, he firmly believes in family ties and contentment, and he is childlike in interpersonal relationships, but he is never satisfied and never stops in artistic pursuit. Looking at Mr. Liang's paintings in his life, the bold and old-fashioned ones are 199 1 to 200 1 works in the first half of the year. During this period, Liang Tianzhu was ill, often suffering from angina pectoris and stomach trouble. He lives a simple life and refuses to socialize. As long as he is in better health, he always paints without leaving his hand. While he is thankful for his efforts, he is also meditating on the shortcomings of his previous paintings. Most of his works are bolder, older and more rigorous than before. He began to seek change and innovation from two aspects: strengthening the expressive ability of lines and paying attention to the use of colors, constantly exploring the richness and expressive force of painting language, painting so freely and legally, painting so traditional and full of life breath, and painting so vigorous and magnificent. His painting style is not only self-contained, but also has a very high aesthetic character, which is thought-provoking and unrestrained. Thus, his creation has reached a new level, with more power and artistic appeal, which has attracted more attention from ink painting circles at home and abroad. Looking at Mr. Liang's paintings is an artistic and emotional enjoyment and an inspiration full of vitality and pursuit. There are steel bars and iron bones exposed in the cracks of splash-ink painting, which not only maintains the charm of pen and ink, but also shows the sense of structural beauty and strength. At the same time, its pure black and white modeling has the dual function of separating and connecting colors, just like the function of rest in music. Finally, before the color is dry, we use light ink with different ink colors where we need heavy ink, like a sudden rain hitting the beach. The ink colors are intermittent, and the lines and colors are rich and colorful, which removes a lot of dryness and anger and adds a bit of subtlety and obscurity. In this way, a splash-ink landscape painting with pen, ink and colored ink was completed. In the first half of 2000, when Liang Tianzhu was 85 years old, he painted a three-and-a-half-foot "Peak Turn" with green mountains and green waters, which was fascinating, full of pen and ink, and the water flowed to the ink endlessly, reaching a state of confusion. In May of 200 1 year, Liang Tianzhu was admitted to the hospital. Three days before her death, my daughter took Mr. Liang in a wheelchair to visit the small garden in front of the hospital. He loves life, hates fakes, and hates fake flowers. He picked a pink flower and a bitter herb flower himself, and held a small wild flower firmly in one hand, happy as a child. He said to his daughter and son-in-law, "am I finished like this?" Can't I paint any more? Let me live for two more years, and I can draw many pictures. "He also said," 1998 After I was hospitalized, God didn't let me go. After I was discharged, I painted. "Another thing that usually makes Mr. Liang happy is wrestling with his daughter's nephew. /kloc-at seven or eight o'clock in the evening of June, 0/6, that is, five or six hours before Mr. Liang died of illness, he wrestled with his youngest daughter, who let him go and he won. Mr. Liang was as happy as a child and kept saying, "I can still beat you." "More than three hours before his death, he asked his daughter to help him up. He drew a cock for his daughter trembling on a piece of paper with a signature pen. This is his last work. He wants to draw a rooster in his mind, but his mind is still filled with mountains and rivers. As a result, he drew a landscape rooster, which looked like a chicken and a mountain. It was even more charming and unforgettable. Xinhua News Agency 2001September 12
