Participated in the December 9 Movement in 1935, the Chinese National Liberation Vanguard in October 1937, the Shandong People's Anti-Japanese National Salvation Army in the same year, and the Communist Party of China in December 1937. In February 1949, he was appointed as the director of the Political Department of the 103rd Division of the 35th Army of the Third Field Army. In June 1949, he was also the director of the Political Department of the 3rd Military Division of the Zhejiang Military Region. In May 1950, he was appointed as the director of the Political Department of the 7th Corps and the Political Department directly under the Political Department of the Zhejiang Military Region. Director of the military delegation of the 15th Corps of Sichuan Uprising and military representative of the Corps. In January 1951, he was appointed deputy political commissar of the 6th Military Division and 104th Division of the Zhejiang Military Region. Leader of the core group of the Zhejiang Provincial Revolutionary Committee, and served as the first secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China from January 1971 to June 1972. From February 1969 to May 1973, he served as political commissar of the Zhejiang Provincial Military Region. In June 1970, he also served as political commissar of the Zhejiang Production and Construction Corps.

Achievements and Honors

He was awarded the rank of colonel in September 1955 and promoted to the rank of major general in April 1964. Won the Second Class Independence Medal of Freedom and the Second Class Liberation Medal of the People's Republic of China. In July 1988, he was awarded the Medal of Honor for Independence and Meritorious Service of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. He is a member of the Ninth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Due to ineffective treatment, he died in Hangzhou 117 Hospital at 13:45 on February 18, 1989 at the age of 71.
