According to this characteristic, we adopted the artificial guiding method of Ficus microcarpa aerial rooting in Liuhuahu Park in Guangzhou, which made Ficus microcarpa aerial rooting contact with the soil as soon as possible, which was beneficial to the rapid growth of roots and rooting into forests. Selection of Rooting Tree Species The selection of rooting tree species is mainly the native plants of Ficus of Moraceae, especially Ficus tenuifolia, Ficus Alpinia and Ficus Leizhou, whose air roots are very developed. Ficus can take root all year round, but spring is the most suitable, because the temperature rises gradually and the rain increases in spring, which is beneficial to plant growth. The selection of air roots is beneficial to safety and construction. Generally, air roots about 5 meters from the ground are selected, and air roots are densely selected according to the needs of landscaping or rejuvenation. Generally, hollow bamboo is selected as raw material, and the transverse diameter is about 12 cm, and the length from the air root tip to the ground is 50 cm. Cut the bamboo in half in advance, remove the bamboo partition in the bamboo tube, and reserve small holes in the bamboo tube, which is beneficial to the respiratory growth of the air root. The filling medium is composed of humus and flower mud in the ratio of 1:2. In the root introduction construction, half of the bamboo tubes are directly buried about 30 cm underground to guide the fibrous roots to the set position, and the other half of the bamboo tubes are divided into sections. Then the bamboo tubes are fitted section by section, and then the mixed soil is filled into the bamboo tube section by section to wrap the banyan air roots, and each section of bamboo tube is firmly bound with iron wire or plastic tape to guide the air roots to grow downward along the bamboo tube. Finally, spray water, irrigate and fertilize the trees. After about 15 days, a new young root will appear at the top of the air root. Because the air root is wrapped in sections, there is a good space for loosening. When the air roots of banyan grow to a certain extent, the bamboo pieces will slowly crack, and we can untie the bamboo pieces one by one according to the growth and change of the air roots of banyan. When the air roots touch the ground and grow steadily, they can absorb nutrients by themselves, and bamboo chips can be completely unbound (bamboo chips can be reused). First of all, we should control the soil humidity and air humidity of the growth of banyan trees. Severe water shortage will cause the air roots of banyan trees to wither or even die. Too much water and poor drainage will lead to stagnant water and rotten roots, which will make the roots difficult to breathe and cause diseases. Therefore, it is necessary to master its biological characteristics when spraying water, so as to spray water correctly. Master the principle of "thin fertilizer and diligent application" and apply fertilizer in time according to the growth needs of trees and air roots. Some weak trees should be fertilized outside the roots to maintain the normal metabolism of trees and air roots. Do a good job of protection at any time. Once it is found that the bamboo joint falls off or the bamboo is not firm, measures should be taken immediately to repair it so as not to damage the air root. Results At present, there are about 300 air roots of Ficus in Liuhuahu Park. After the introduction of roots, the growth space of banyan trees has been well extended, and the whole tree is flourishing and full of vitality. For example, when the air root of a banyan tree in the west park of the park is about 2 meters from the ground, we use artificial air root guidance method to guide it. A year later, the air roots extended to the ground, and the diameter of the air roots increased from 0.3 cm to 2 cm, and the air roots of banyan trees grew vigorously. Compared with those without guidance, it will take about two years to reach the ground if there is no man-made damage. Garden application Ficus plants are widely used in Guangzhou gardens, especially Ficus microcarpa and Ficus alpina, which have many drooping air roots. After artificially guiding the air roots of Ficus microcarpa, another landscape can be created. For example, it can form landscapes such as "single tree into forest", "tropical rain forest" and "natural arch". It can also make the air roots form "column roots" and reduce the lodging phenomenon of trees. The development direction is that a variety of plants are attached to a tree, which is a unique plant landscape in tropical areas. In Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, there are more than 40 species of oil palm in the residual leaf sheath, belonging to 8 families and 20 genera. This kind of landscape is simulated by borrowing gardens. As the main scene, tourists will pay attention with great interest, and at the same time, they can carry out popular science education. Vertical greening occupies less land and takes quick effect, which is beneficial to improve the green quantity and coverage rate of the park, and can also vacuum and reduce noise, beautify the park and improve the landscape effect of the park. It is planned to apply this idea to the air root technology of banyan trees. By selecting some shade plant varieties (which are easy to grow and will not have adverse effects on banyan trees), climbing epiphytes on the air roots introduced by banyan trees, such as ferns such as antlers and nest ferns, and bromeliads and orchids are all good epiphytes to enhance the greening and beautification effect. Using this vertical planting method, tenacious shade plants will climb up along the air roots of banyan trees to create green, which can not only enrich the plant level and increase the green quantity, but also provide people with better activities and rest space.
