Crimson is seedless, Eurasian and native to California, USA. The parent is Emperor× C33-199, and 1989 is selected from the hybrid offspring and registered by name. It was introduced to China at the end of 20th century.

The ear is medium-large, conical and shouldered, with an average ear weight of 500 grams and a medium-thick ear axis. The fruit is bright red, the fruit powder is thick white and oval, the average grain weight is 4g, the transverse diameter is 1.66cm, the longitudinal diameter is 2.08cm, and the stalk length is medium. The flesh is yellow-green, crisp and translucent, with long brush, firm combination with fruit pedicle, strong tensile strength and not easy to fall off. The peel is thick, the pulp is difficult to separate, the fruit is sweet, the soluble solid content is 19%, the acid content is 0.6%, the quality is good, and there is no seed.

The seedless growth period in Christen is longer than 165 days. The fruit has strong hanging resistance, delayed harvesting after ripening, no rotten fruit, no discoloration, dark color, high sugar content and strong taste. No threshing during transportation and storage. The growth potential is vigorous, the germination ability and branching ability are strong, but the flower bud formation rate of young trees is slightly poor. This variety has strong antifungal ability, but it is easy to be infected with white rot.
