The pelvis is made up of storks and bilateral medullary bones, and it is shaped like a basin, so it is called pelvis. It is divided into two parts: the upper large pelvis and the lower small pelvis.
The main function of pelvis is to support weight and protect pelvic organs. In women, it is also a necessary passage when the fetus is delivered. Normal female pelvis is wider and shallower than male pelvis, which is beneficial to fetal delivery.
