Crankshaft position sensor is usually installed on the distributor and is one of the most important sensors in the control system. Its function is to detect the engine speed, so it is also called speed sensor;
It detects the top dead center position of the piston, so it is also called top dead center sensor, which includes detecting the top dead center signal of each cylinder for controlling ignition and detecting the top dead center signal of the first cylinder for controlling sequential fuel injection.

Disassembly and assembly
The crankshaft position sensor is fastened with two bolts, and the bottom surface of the crankshaft position sensor is padded with adhesive tape pad or cardboard pad to adjust the depth of the sensor. Once the engine is started (after installing the crankshaft position sensor), the excess part of the paper pad should be cut off.
The new spare sensor will have this gasket. If the original crankshaft position sensor is reinstalled, or the gearbox and clutch housing are replaced, new gaskets must be installed.

At the rear near the intake manifold, remove the sensor wire harness from the main wire harness, remove the nut that fixes the crankshaft position sensor clip on the oil pipe mounting bolt, remove the crankshaft position sensor mounting bolt, remove the crankshaft position sensor and remove the clip of the crankshaft position sensor wire harness.
When installing, install the convex head of the crankshaft position sensor into the hole of the gearbox housing so that the end faces are flush. Install and tighten the two mounting bolts of the crankshaft position sensor with a torque of17-21n m. The two bolts fixing the crankshaft position sensor to the gearbox are specially designed to ensure the correct clearance between the sensor and the flywheel. It is not allowed to install other bolts instead of specially designed bolts.
Connect the wire plug to the crankshaft position sensor, install the sensor harness clip, install the harness clip to the fuel pipe mounting bolt, and tighten the mounting nut of the harness clip.
