How was the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge built?
1. How to build the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge: The construction of artificial island involves not only the design and construction of a large number of complex projects such as building island wall structure, land formation and soft foundation reinforcement in the open sea; At the same time, it is necessary to provide a stable deep foundation pit supporting structure, cast-in-place the upper tunnel of the island with high quality and high speed, and form the installation and docking conditions of immersed tunnel, which is very difficult and challenging. The builders of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge creatively adopted the "complete technology of rapid island building with deep steel cylinders".

2. Manufacture of steel drums: The two islands manufacture 120 giant steel drums, each with a diameter of 22 meters, a height of 55 meters and a weight of 500 tons. Because of its large size, a steel drum is divided into 72 modules, and the final error must be limited to 3 cm.

3. Steel drum transportation: The manufactured steel drums, vibrating hammers and other power systems are shipped and transported to the sea area near Zhuhai.

4. The steel drum vibrates and sinks into the sea: the vibration sinks into the sea, that is, the steel cylinder is put into the sea. The vibrating sinking system consists of eight APE-600 vibrating hammers from America, with a weight of 500T. The vibrating sinking system is hoisted by 1600T crane hammer, and the steel cylinder is hoisted to the design position by 24 hydraulic chucks installed on the vibrating beam.

5. Sand filling of steel cylinders: After the sinking of steel cylinders is completed, standby sand carriers have been prepared to inject sand into the steel cylinders, and the steel cylinders vibrate into the sea one by one, and then inject sand one by one. In order to seal the water, the cylinder should be filled with "sub-cells", that is, sheet-like steel shells. The auxiliary grid has a height of 30m, an arc length of 10.846m and a single weight of 60t. In this way, the steel cylinder and the auxiliary grid together form a closed sea area.

6. Precipitation in the island: precipitation is carried out in the closed sea area to form the appearance of the island.

7. Sand filling on the island: sand filling, leveling, tamping and piling on the island.

8. Construction on the island: The workload of construction on the island is very heavy, including the embedded sections of buildings on the island such as tunnels, roads and houses.
