How to grow jujubes

The method of planting jujubes is as follows:

1. Garden site selection: Jujube trees are barren and drought-tolerant and have wide adaptability, whether in mountains or plains, beaches or courtyards, or roadside. It can be planted, but it is better to choose a land that is sheltered from the wind and sunny, has sufficient sunshine, has deep soil, good drainage, and is loose and fertile.

2. Planting: Choose strong seedlings with good grafting interface healing, normal root development, and no quarantine pests and diseases. They can be planted in spring or autumn, but autumn planting is the best. Regardless of spring planting or autumn planting, it is best to dig a planting hole with a square meter depth of about 2000px. Each plant can be applied with 20-30kg of farmyard manure as base fertilizer, and then cover it with soil before planting. The planting depth should be 50px above the ground.

3. Shaping and pruning: After planting, the stem can be fixed at 30 to 1000px, the secondary branches can be shortened, and the young buds sprouting from the base should be promptly removed, and the branches can be pruned in layers according to the main trunk. The height is controlled below 2.5 m, and 6 main branches are left (3 at the base, 2 in the middle, and 1 at the top).

4. Soil, fertilizer and water management: Soil: Cultivating and weeding should be carried out in time in summer. From the first year after planting, the garden should be deeply plowed once every autumn after the jujube trees have fallen leaves, and the plowing depth should be controlled at 25 to 750px. Plowing in autumn should be combined with the application of base fertilizer. Fertilizer: Generally, for trees 1 to 4 years old, 0.1 to 0.5kg of urea and 0.1 to 0.3kg of diammonium phosphate are applied to the trees every year. The amount of fertilizer is adjusted year by year depending on the age of the tree and the crown.

5. Preserve flowers and fruits: Jujube head topping: Topping new jujube heads on non-extended branches after extracting 3 to 4 secondary branches can significantly improve the fruit setting rate and fruit quality. Spray growth regulator: Spray 0.2% borax or add 5 to 10 mg "920" per kg of water during the flowering period, which is beneficial to fruit setting. Spraying 10-20ml/L naphthylacetic acid or anti-dropping agent about one month before harvesting can effectively reduce fruit drop. Release bees during flowering period: Release bees can effectively improve fruit setting rate and fruit setting uniformity.

6. Prevention and control of pests and diseases: Diseases: Mainly include jujube disease, date rust, etc. Jujube disease is a viral disease. The main prevention and control methods are to cultivate disease-free seedlings, select disease-resistant varieties and timely spray pesticides. Insects to prevent leafhoppers from spreading diseases. Once diseased plants are found, eradicate them immediately and destroy them. Jujube rust can be controlled with pesticides such as fenxinin. Pests: Mainly include date armyworm, date gall midge, peach heartworm, etc., which can be controlled with deltamethrin, dichlorvos and other corresponding pesticides.

7. Harvesting of green dates: Harvesting period: The ripening period of jujube fruit is mainly divided into white ripening stage, crisp ripening stage and full ripening stage. Processed candied dates are harvested during the white ripening period. Harvested fresh in the crisp and ripe stage. When making dried dates, they should be harvested at the mature stage. Harvesting methods: 1. Hand picking method. 2. Knock down method. 3. Falling-off method: Use ethephon to accelerate fall-off and harvest.
