According to the Regulations on the Protection of Geographical Indications Products, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine organized a review of the application for the protection of geographical indications products of Yanshan chestnut. After passing the examination, it is now approved to protect the geographical indications of Yanshan chestnut products from now on. (1) variety.

Hong Yan, Yanchang, Yanfeng, Yanshan Short Branch, Yan Kui, Yinfeng, Heiqi, Xinzhuang No.2, Nanzao No.3 and Huaijiu No.5.

(2) Site conditions.

The soil type is mainly cinnamon soil, and the parent materials are gneiss and granite. Soil organic matter content ≥0.8%, pH value 5.9-6.8.

(3) Cultivation techniques.

1. Seedling raising: Taking seedling chestnut as rootstock, scions are collected from excellent mother plants for grafting propagation.

2. Planting: the planting period is spring or autumn, and the number of plants per hectare is ≤ 1200.

3. Cultivation management:

(1) Fertilization: apply 0.5 kg of organic fertilizer per 1 kg of chestnut; Apply borax to the soil once every three years, and the application amount is 0.2 kg to 0.3 kg/plant; Spray 0.3% sodium borate at flowering stage every year.

(2) plastic pruning: mainly in winter pruning, combining winter and summer; Keep the trees ventilated and transparent, and the canopy coverage rate is ≤ 80%; The pruning intensity of adult trees should be controlled within the crown projection of 8 ~ 14 branches /m2.

4. Fruit harvesting: harvesting began after the end of September, mainly picking chestnuts. After harvest, it will be spread out in time to cool and sold in different levels.

5. Environmental and safety requirements: The use of pesticides and fertilizers must comply with the relevant provisions of the state and must not pollute the environment.

(4) Quality characteristics.

1. Sensory characteristics:

(1) Appearance: The fruit is semi-circular, with chestnut brown peel, shiny and less fluff.

(2) Single fruit weight: ≥ 5.5g ..

(3) Flavor: The flesh is light yellow to milky yellow and tastes sweet.

(4) Processing characteristics: rough skin is easy to peel off.

2. Physical and chemical indexes: One month after harvest, the water content of pulp is 40% ~ 45%, including protein ≥7%, fat 2%, starch 40% ~ 50%, and sugar content ≥ 18%.

3. Product safety requirements: product safety indicators must meet the relevant national regulations on similar products. Producers within the scope of protection of geographical indication products of Yanshan chestnut may apply to Beijing Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision for the use of "special signs for geographical indication products", which shall be approved by AQSIQ.
