Sweaters give off a pungent smell after entering the water, either because they are not cleaned or because they are wet and polluted. You need to soak the sweater in warm soapy water for two hours, then wash it with neutral washing powder, rinse it repeatedly with clear water and dry it in sunny environment.
Precautions for sweaters
It's best to wash the newly bought woolen sweater before wearing it formally, because there will be some dirt such as oil stains, paraffin wax and dust in the production process, and the new woolen sweater will also smell like moth-proofing agent.
If possible, the dehydrated sweater can be dried at 80℃. If it is dried at room temperature, it is best not to use a clothes hanger, but to hang or lay it flat with a clothesline and put it in a cool and ventilated place. When the sweater is 90% dry, it can be ironed and shaped with steam, and then it can be put on and stored until it is completely dry.
