What is the concept of CEU of automobile?
That is, automobile computer modification (CEU) computer modification

The so-called automobile computer modification is simply a modification method to change the program set in the original automobile computer, thus changing the management and control scope of the computer to various parts of the engine and realizing power improvement.

Nowadays, computers used in automobiles have a wide range of management, such as the most basic fuel supply and ignition system, pressurization and decompression of turbo or supercharged engines, and so on. All these must rely on the monitoring and management of computers. However, the durability, economy, environmental protection and other conditions must be considered when the car leaves the factory, so the range set by the original car computer is also conservative, and of course there is room for upgrading. However, if the engine is further modified, such as increasing the compression ratio, upgrading the turbine and expanding the exhaust volume, etc. The upgrade of ECU will become an indispensable and important modification step.

The most effective method of power modification is to modify the computer. After professional and comprehensive modification, the performance of the vehicle is as follows: the torque at middle and low speeds is enhanced and the speed is faster; The braking force is improved and the braking distance is shortened; The stability of the whole vehicle is enhanced, reducing the roll when cornering; Gasoline burns more fully, fuel consumption is reduced, and exhaust emissions are better.

We often talk about modifications, such as adding mushroom heads, changing high-pressure pressure regulating valves, changing spark plugs, changing ignition wires, adding secondary steam, adding turbocharging and so on. The final effect of these improvements is to increase the steam intake or shorten the ignition timing. If these modifications are used in cars in the previous gasoline fuel era, they should have certain effects, because cars do not use closed-loop fuel control systems. However, if it is used in the current closed-loop control EFI vehicle, although these modifications have achieved the effect of increasing the steam intake or shortening the ignition timing physically, the expected effect is finally suppressed because the modern on-board computer adopts the closed-loop control system. For example, the mushroom head, which increases the air intake effect, changes the mixing ratio per unit time. However, after the cylinder is burned, the gas detection parameters of the oxygen sensor are different from those expected, so the oil supply is adjusted, and finally the in-cylinder mixing ratio returns to the preset value.

Therefore, the most orthodox car modification should be combined with other hardware modifications while modifying the computer, such as adding mushroom heads, changing high-pressure pressure regulating valves, changing spark plugs, changing fire wires, adding secondary steam intake and turbocharging. Only in this way can the expected modification effect be achieved.

Modification method of automobile computer programming The simplest way to modify automobile ECU is to convert the storage program chip. When replacing chips with different programs, just disassemble the ECU backplane, unplug the original chip and replace it with a new chip. Because some old E-ROM chips can only be written into the program once, every time you modify the program, you should use a burner to carve the program into a blank chip instead of the original chip. In recent years, many electronic control units of new cars have used flash memory chips that can be read and written repeatedly. When modifying the program, it can be loaded directly without replacing the blank chip, which is much more convenient than E-Rom. But no matter what kind of chip it is, both the original factory and the chip refitter will add protection design to prevent decoding and copying. Therefore, when refitting, the chip refitter must first upload the data of each car to the chip refitter to authenticate the body number, ECU number, year/specification. After the data is confirmed, the relevant programs are downloaded to the dealer's computer, and the technicians use a burner to write the data into a blank chip or update the Flash-Rom chip program in the ECU through the socket originally used to connect the original factory test computer. This form of ECU modification will not give fans any adjustment space, but it has the advantages of saving worry and time, which is very suitable for some original cars, and the engine (including intake and exhaust system) has not been changed or changed very little. It should be noted that most people just stare at the hardware configuration when talking about ECU modification, as if the power performance of the car will be improved immediately after replacing it with a famous brand ECU, which is really a big misunderstanding in the modification. ECU is just a tool. The difference between different categories and brands depends on your actual needs. In the final analysis, the effect of modifying ECU depends on the programmer's skill and whether there are enough test equipment (such as professional air-fuel ratio meter, dynamometer, etc.). ). Imagine that if a programmer only holds a laptop and sits in the co-pilot position, and the owner is in expressway, it is not only dangerous, but also unscientific to adjust the fuel supply and ignition timing by feeling, and the adjustment effect may be worse than the original (of course, this method is basically desirable in the modification degree of ordinary street cars). On the racetrack, you will often see engineers using laptops to adjust programs on the spot. This is a fine-tuning of the original modification scheme according to the weather and track conditions, but it will not deviate too much from the original modification scheme. In fact, the biggest cost of modifying ECU is not hardware but software. To develop a set of ECU programs tailored for individual modified vehicles, a senior programmer and other technicians need to work on the dynamometer for a whole day or even longer. In the final analysis, if the adjustment technology is not too hard or professional equipment is insufficient, we should still use some well-known brands of chips or follow the random procedures of external computers. These may not be the most ideal ECU modifications, but they are definitely the safest and most cost-effective methods.
